Champions League revamp

Amazed people really think the Premier League will expel Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd, Tottenham and Chelsea.

They probably won't mate but if they don't football's over. We cannot compete. May as well go to watch a local lower league side as at least they can get somewhere.

Its also pretty likely that the super league will completely replace the premier league at some point in the future.

I'll repeat myself...

100 pts reduction for each club.
+
5 year european ban
If you hand out a punishment that is so severe they might as well leave you’re effectively forcing them to move away as well which hurts everyone.

either you expel or you punish so that it’s not seen as a death sentence but enough to hurt for a year or two.

They'll threaten it, but will never follow through.

The clubs know it.

Just a couple of thoughts from me;
1) There is a lot of bluff and counter bluff going on on both sides.
2) Sometimes, when bluffing you end up overplaying your hand (which is sort of what's happened for these 6 teams here) and unintended consequences happen.
3) There is enormous momentum from below for removing them, which will only grow if and when UEFA and potentiall FIFA start sanctions.
4) And this is critical, is 1 or 2 break, kicking 3 or 4 out becomes much much easier.

If they don’t then all fans need to boycott games against these clubs until they are punished. Leave the grounds empty, don’t watch them on telly. We have to take matters into our own hands. I for one will not be attending a single fixture against the scab cowboys for the rest of my life.
If the Premier League refuse to kick them out, then the 14 should either create a new league or re-join the Football League.

It's got to be enough for them all to be out of the European places at least. Which would be 34 points currently. Arsenal and spurs in relegation places. Liverpool in 17th. City would be 7th still.

They need europe to sustain themselves.

That still gives City chance to get into Europe if they're allowed to carry out their fixtures.

If this went ahead, the logical conclusion I come to is the Premier League has no other choice but to do that.

The alternative is UEFA bowing out, binning the Champions League, every other club accepting a permanent £300m a year deficit to other clubs with no means of redress. It's unimaginable.

Would you carry on watching/following football if it happened? I wouldn't. What's the point in Everton (or any other club in the pyramid) existing if they can't possibly win anything ever again?

Money talks mate.

Dream world to think they'll expel the biggest 6 - The Premier League aren't the bastions of integrity.

Costa Coffee come into town.

All the local independents were up in arms.

Locals swore blind they'd boycott it. They'd only buy coffee and cake from the independents.

2 years on, 75% of the independents have gone, and Costa Coffee is the most popular on the highstreet.

Which is why if it went ahead expulsion is the only choice, because if you allow these sides into the pyramid at any level it destroys it. You may as well let them stay in the Premier League as much as the Conference, because ultimately they'd be back in the Premier League in five years and richer than everyone in it regardless.

This no different from the financial crash of 2000’s.

Huge corporations taking no accountability for ludicrous spending, no mitigation measures for any blips in the model.

They’ve manoeuvred their way to such a position that they believe they hold power over everyone

Bubble bursts and they’re first instinct is to be bailed out to ensure their own safety whilst trampling on everyone else.

There’ll be no action taken, well minimal at best. In the end they will get their way. Continue to grow their wealth and spend extravagantly.

The pandemic has shown how close to the edge these clubs live.

The bigger picture here is that going forward these 6 clubs simply cannot be trusted. They’re snakes. They’ve ratted on their peers. Held secretive meetings. Peed all over the organisations that have given them their platforms to progress and even assisted them to help. The system is broken, there’s no trust. Exclusion for me is the best form of punishment.

How pathetic and desperate are the Pl going to look if they just hand them a small point deduction and a fine?

It’s just gonna create more outrage.

the PL will be unwatchable if they let 6 teams have a 350m head start every season.
it is dead anyway if they go ahead with it and dont kick them out.
