Rule 9. Except with the prior written approval of the board, during the season a club shall not enter or play its senior men’s first team in any competition other than

L.9.1 – The UEFA Champions League
L.9.2 – The UEFA Europa League
L.9.3 – The FA Cup
L.9.4 – The FA Community Shield
L.9.5 – The Football League Cup or
L.9.6 – Competitions sanctioned by the County Association of which it is a member

Think you would struggle to punish someone for breaking this before a ball has been kicked or any fixtures or dates put into the calendar. Would get messy legally. I don't think the PL will pursue it. They should but they won't.

They signed up to an unsanctioned competition.

There has to be a deterrent in place so this cant happen again. That's why carrying on like nothing happened won't work.

How can we trust these clubs not to just try and force through something similar in future? If there are no repercussions and no future deterrent, then I think we'll see this happen again.
WE must prevent this from ever happening again.

Its very easy, update rule 9, list the sanctions.

Change the ownership rules.

WE 100% should never let anything like this even be able to happen.

From Arsenal's statement: "The system needs to be fixed."

So they know now they cannot brute force it, they'll be going down the route of Brexit - pushing a narrative at every opportunity so their power grab is eventually seen as the 'right thing to do'.

Its despicable. These clubs must not be let off the hook by shifting the blame to their CEOs.

They declared an intention.

They cant enter a competition that doesn't exist.

A court of law would laugh at that rule.

For the record I want all 6 relegated to DAS SPL.

But I can see why no sanctions will come, but lets not forget, my record on predictions is quite possibly the worst in Europe.
but another set of lawyers would argue that signing the form saying you will enter and that being accepted by the competition organisers amounts to entering the competition. Thats how lawyers work, professional arguers. There's lots at stake here, I'm rather hoping they get stranded in years of legal quagmire,
