Champions League revamp

I think what might actually tip me over the edge with football isn't the ESL itself, but knowing that these clubs are going to get away with the damage they've done.

That’s where I’m at now. I’ve forgotten all about the ESL collapsing I just want to see some change now.

Premier League Rule 9 which was very clearly broken by them all and they should be punished for but wont be.

Clubs will argue that they intended to ask for written permission, Master's himself said PL will vote down their request.

Dont get me wrong, throw the book at them - but I wouldnt hang your hat on rule 9

but another set of lawyers would argue that signing the form saying you will enter and that being accepted by the competition organisers amounts to entering the competition. Thats how lawyers work, professional arguers. There's lots at stake here, I'm rather hoping they get stranded in years of legal quagmire,
As I said earlier, I dont see much appetite from other clubs for this to get bloody.

I suspect a lot of people will be seeing this as a victory.

WE stopped it, now we make sure it cant happen again.

WE must prevent this from ever happening again.

Its very easy, update rule 9, list the sanctions.

Change the ownership rules.

WE 100% should never let anything like this even be able to happen.
The problem is its now happened twice in 2 years. Both times, the same clubs are involved and both times they're being praised by the media and ex players as some sort of moral guardians, for doing a 180. Until the media's attitude towards them changes, nothing will change.

Still can’t quite believe it isn’t all some weird dream.

I mean all of us can make a bad decision on the spur of a moment but these geniuses must have planned this for months, signed multipage documents with presumably penalties attached and none of them thought a) perhaps this might be a bad idea b) perhaps we should have a rollout plan for it to make it a success c) believed in it enough to last 48 hours!

Would English fans even be in favour of the 50+1 rule over here knowing it might stop them ever being a force?

So clubs can’t be sanctioned because they have fans. Let them do what they want then.

Next time a club goes in to administration, give them a £50m grant so the fans don’t suffer.

This is sport, not a cresh.

Not what I'm saying at all. It seems the whole of the football world united against these 6 owners, so punishing the footballing fans for making a strong stand against these owners in my opinion is wrong, I am thinking the backlash from the clubs fans was enough to make them backtrack. Just my opinion though.

And also if there's a lower league club going under , your damn right they should be given cash to keep them afloat, absolute corner stone of many many peoples life. again, my opinion though.

They declared an intention.

They cant enter a competition that doesn't exist.

A court of law would laugh at that rule.

Seriously dude, you haven't alf been talking bollox in your last few posts. Seem to just be arguing with people for the sake of it. Oneupmanship and all that. lol

They entered into an agreement to create a new unsanctioned competition without approval during a season which is blatently against the rules. Whether the competition has started yet is completely irrelevant. They clearly broke rule 9. ;)
