Champions League revamp

To be fair they are good for it.

They have an income of 350m a year.

For now, it’s not guaranteed though. Teams, all teams, need to be held more responsible with their finances. Read today Aguero going to Barca on a fat wedge despite them being stupidly in trouble financially.

If you want genuine change, why limit it to 14 clubs? Are the 14 the only ones that matter?

By all means the rest of English football fans/groups can join but ultimately 14 clubs make the decisions in our league and unless we come together to wrestle power off the top 6 its only a matter of time before this super league is slipped in through the back door via concessions from UEFA.

I feel like Leeds aren’t being given enough (any) credit for being the first team to make a public statement about this live on telly. It’s all well and good posting tweets after the lord mayor’s show, but those t-shirts in the warm up yesterday when as things stood it was all still going ahead, that was a strong move and made a real statement. Well done Leeds.

Wonder if we’ll wear them Friday now it’s been suspended.

I've given out more middle fingers in the last 15 minutes reading this thread than I have in...I dunno, my entire time here?

Unbelievable how callous these piece of crap clubs are. They have 0 remorse for this, they're only "sorry" that they couldn't go through with it.

Tonight’s nowhere near as exciting as last night with Perez doing an interview in a dingy Spanish kitchen up to his tits in cocaine.
Well do I have a Reddit thread for you. He hasn't shown up yet. Interview was supposed to start an hour ago but he's in the middle of doing a Godfather III meeting on Zoom.

He’s not talking bollox at all.

The rule is referring to taking part or signing up to a competition taking place in that season. The Super League was an agreement in principle to begin as soon as was practical on an undetermined date, pending agreement of UEFA. That was in Perez’s own words.

They weren’t planning to play in May.

Well now you are just making things up because it doesn't say anything of the sort. It says 'Except with the prior written approval of the board, during the season a club shall not enter or play its senior men's first team in any other competition other than blah blah blah.

Why say enter or play if you only mean one of them. Enter or Play are 2 different things and those 6 clubs entered into an agreement to play their men in an unapproved competition while a season was still running. They broke rule 9 and it can legally be interpreted to be that way with the way the rule has been written.
