Champions League revamp

Not a fan of point deductions personally.

I’d go for a European ban next season - let some lower down teams take their place and benefit from some of the money they don’t appreciate. This one is most important because they wanted to leave the CL.

Regarding their domestic leagues - 12 month transfer ban (purchases, not sales). Gives them a chance to balance the books a bit if they’re struggling financially.
points deductions will be fun but a 5 year euro ban would punish them. I'd take three year ban but for some reason five year ban strikes me as appropriate for some strange reason. This opportunity to level the playing field has to be taken. I'm not arsed if its a powerful Man U side that plays us or a powerful Leeds/Sheff Weds side, success in football is cyclical, or it used to be. This perennial success is boring

It seems the players agree. At least some of them anyway. This new format will allow teams with a good coefficient to have absolutely abysmal league seasons and still potential qualify for the CL, meaning they undeservedly reap the financial rewards. It’s all a big joke really.

Well for example if it was to come in for next season as it stands...

Bayern and Real Madrid would be guaranteed a place in the Champions League without actually kicking a ball, where’s the incentive to push on?

If you went down to teams outside of those places shock horror Liverpool and Arsenal would Qualify for Champions League... Arsenal haven’t qualified for how many years?

Great apology from Josh Kroenke.

"If we get another invite to join the Super League we will consult the fans"

Arteta
"It didnt work , it wasnt the right time"

Yet some folks this has gone away

Of course it hasn't gone away. This was three years in the making.

Three...years...

They waited until they perceived their adversaries were weak, and had no choice but to capitulate, before striking. Whatever imperatives stirred them to action, the reality is that they had planned it all along - during the good times.

It's not as though these people are going to become contrite and penitent. They may outwardly show that because they got caught. But they're still the people that schemed for three years to ram their vision down everyone else's throat, because they knew no one else would voluntarily assent to it.

Trust is lying on the floor in broken shards. They'll never be dealt with on a trust basis again. Either they agree to make it too costly to themselves to break away, or they have to leave the club.

Three years, bunch of billionaires surrounded by army of lawyers, PR experts and bankers, backed by JP Morgan and it all collapsed in days. Still don't understand how it ended so amateurish, they proclaimed this thing in Sunday after midnight and after initial statement total media blackout, absolutely horrible from PR standpoint.

Three years of work and whole thing collapsed in less than two days, crazy.

Well UEFA , The FA & Premier Lge best get their heads out the sand .

If they dont act now football will pay a very high price in the near future.
There'll never be a better time than now to do this.

But it looks like they want the soft option .

The only think more pathetic then the whole thing collapsing in 3 days is the horrendous fake apology’s

what worse is ppl buy it

3 years they been planning it
Perez is crazy old [Poor language removed] but at least he doesn't pretened and not faking apologies, he was very frank this whole thing was about money and greed, this guys with their fake apologies and lies are ten time worse (in my opinion)

The Liverpool one the worse, it almost like a someone wanting to break up. If I was a RS I’d be fuming.

“It’s not YOU it’s me” I didn’t want to hurt “YOU

there no us or we in it, it’s like he doesn’t own them

I love the idea that "if we don't get Super League money we won't be able to buy Mbappe or Haaland. HOW can football EXIST without us having them?? THINK OF THE RAMIFICATIONS IF WE DON'T GET THEM!!"

Like I give a single toss about Real getting any player. All these clubs going bust because they can't figure out how to use Quicken and, subsequently, killing wages would make me quite happy.

Real crying and just yesterday they signed David Alaba on huge wage. I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if they sign Haaland or Mbappe too in couple of months, Perez is a bullshit merchant. Barca on other hand seems in much worse position

Where has the players unions been in all of this? Don't think I've heard a word.
If the top players want less games they should be prepared to take less money and thus negate the need for the clubs to continually spend beyond their means.
