Champions League revamp

Not a chance in hell they will.

whether you want to admit it, those Top 6 (excluding Tottenham) drive up revenue for the Premier League significantly.

No way they’re kicking out their money makers and yes, they’re fully aware they’ve got the Premier Leagues hands tied.
It's still the most visible league in the world. No one is going bankrupt.

Anyone else hoping this kind of happens.

Would have no issue with any of the clubs leaving the PL or Uefa competition.

Fair argument to be made, that the game would a hell of a lot more even and competitive, unravelling the leveraged set up we have had to live through since the early 00’s.

Geuine crack at trophy’s, European qualification and a return to competitive and non financially leveraged sport.

People talk about the league looseing money, I think it’s inevitable it will anyway, the Broadcasting deals are going south, ive cancelled my Sky Sports subscription, on the basis that there isn’t a fair chance of competition and the PL has become a cartel and your just paying to watch a procession. We will always support the club. I don’t think a reboot of the whole thing I sn’t without opportunity.

Id be happy enough competing against the rest without the clubs named in SL. Chelsea, nor City in my mind are big clubs really, Spurs, Arsenal no bigger then us. I think they could be cashing cheques their profiles might not carry. Id enjoy us Vs Leeds, Newcastle, Villa, WH, Wolves, Leicester etc. Be great.

Then Europe? Ajax, Bayern, Dortmund, PSG, Porto, Benfica, Monaco - Yes please.

Remember why we love the game, competitive sport, the game, the love of it, somehow over the years we have had to morph into mini accountants and apply graphs and spreadsheets to our competitiveness and enjoyment of the game, I’d love it just to go back to a rebooted level playing field, were it’s about competitive football again, not who your owner is or CL financial band wagon and everyone pulling that ladder up after them.
This all day.

Individual teams don’t make English football, it’s the other way around.

This is all simply a ruse to pressure UEFA into the "Swiss system" Champions League format at tomorrow's meeting.

If the clubs get that - which they will - they have little reason to go their own way. UEFA will agree, the PL will agree, and it all depends now on the entry
requirements to the new 36-team CL.

that boat has surely sailed now

Power vacuum - expect ALOT of wealthy billionaires to start buying your Newcastle's, Wolves, Sheffield Clubs etc and try to establish a new big 6 as it were.

Think English football after 1992 - Sky, Bein, BT aint just walking away mate neither will Usmanov imo.

Kind of agree with this. All comes down to whether the fans of these clubs currently saying they are done with them stick to that. If they do then this super league dies. Who can afford to follow their club week after week around Europe? Especially in the current climate, we have seen in the last year or so the game is nothing without fans. This league would be that x100. A corporate, americanised circus devoid of any soul.

Dont think you announce a new competition the way they have done if they intended to then backtrack a few days later. The horse has bolted. The CL is finished as it was.

The arrogance of the top clubs thinking they made the prem, they didn’t. If anything by the end of it they were detracting from the competition. No one wants to watch City beat Burnley 5-0 every season. Everton Leeds Villa Newcastle West Ham Leicester scrapping it out in a game of equals where anyone could come out on top or bottom and the outcome of anything isn’t known? TV gold. The fans will flock to the new PL.

Exactly - billionaires won't be looking at buying Liverpool in the super league they'll be looking at buying a Newcastle or Leeds in the Premier League and planning to establish them as one of the big boys in the coming seasons.

Make no mistake money will stay in English football and Everton should be one of the ones to capitalise on this with BMD, Usmanov etc.

Absolutely boss news this is.
