Champions League revamp

I'm also not into the new money clubs getting off lightly, they're even worse having only just joined that group in the last 20 years and they wanted rid of everyone else, scum.

Take money out of the equation entirely - if it wasn’t for money all 6 clubs would be removed from the league - simple as that.

I am not for removing them from the league but no punishment will annoy me more than the ESL itself.

The only way to wrestle control from these elite is to promote other teams, otherwise, it will happen again.

- points deduction for next season
- euro ban for at least 2 years

This allows other clubs to make up the champions league/europa league and get additional funds whilst simultaneously weakening the 6 over the same period - that might jus be enough to break the glass ceiling.

Caving to these clubs would be idiotic, they have no threat right now, they’ve played their hand and fantastically failed, it’s time to put the boot in.

I still think the government need to get involved - I like the idea of the “golden vote” for fans - only for some of the larger decisions - this shouldn’t then affect investment etc.

Also think it’s time to get rid of FFP.

I cannot see any punishment happening now.

The government committee is still happening. The PL haven't ruled out anything yet. That UeFa and the regulators can threatened to ban clubs and players. So hopefully you'll see some reform at least.

Also, the fact that hedge funds, the biggest clubs, and billions of investment still can't get this over the line proves that any super league needs more than that.

The biggest thing is that the fans still have a voice.

Alright here are the punishments for the gang of 6.

1. points deductions - 30 pts for the next three years. (See ya Arsenal, Spurs)

2. Banned from champs league for 3 years

3. 25% revenue from this year distributed to lower leagues.

4. transfer bans for 5 years

5. Salary capped for 10 years

6. owners to do 1000 hours community service

7. All merchandising to be given to the poor and homeless

8. Owners to take the Cersei walk of shame in the nude...

93B4E8E5-704B-45A5-857A-19B0F249BF5C.webp

9. Of course owners need to sell the club and clubs should be 51% owned by fans.

10. lock them up and throw away the key.

11. Owners have to fight a tiger and bear with their bare hands.

One thing is for certain: This ridiculous narrative needs stopping. This narrative that football somehow needs fixing.

If football needs fixing, then it's got absolutely nothing to do certain with clubs having MORE money.

Football is awash with money. Football has NEVER had so much money. The game is richer than it's ever been in it's entire existence, yet these cretins are pushing a narrative that now, at the richest point in the sports history, we need some sort of financial 'solution' for the greater good.

If football needs 'fixing' now at the most lucrative time in the history of the sport, then how the effing hell did we manage to survive for so long on the back of ticket and pie sales?

It's a dangerous and false narrative, and it needs calling out for what it is. A greedy power grab.

Amused. I do believe that the Glazers etc didn't think this through, thought they could bully their way into some profitable racket, throw injunctions around....

Then suddenly realised they haven't got a leg to stand on legally. Saw the revolt across the board. Then bottled it.

The only positive is that the fans know who owns them and their motives. And that there will be changes made to stop it.

The mad thing is these are billionaires who have the best advisors and lawyers around them and yet they still went ahead with this farce of an idea without any in depth thought it seems.

Interesting how this is all on the owners. Not a single outlet or person in football was blaming the owners when they wanted City kicked out of Europe for breaking FFP.

Bolton, miss managed financially for years, nothing to do with the fans, had to see their club go through the toughest period of their history on the brink of folding completely, I didn’t see anyone coming out in their support then.

These owner / chief execs are billionaires & millionaires. They have the best advisors and lawyers in the business. They knew 100% what they were doing, all this BS about “lack of judgment” “badly advised” is nothing but excuses. If these rats aren’t punished it’s an absolute travesty to football. If the media and the same pundits who’ve been crying for the last few days suddenly go silent and let them get away with it I think that speaks a thousand words.

Spot on. They all got together and thought if we take all of footballs most successful teams and Tottenham, nobody can stop us.

i think I know what you mean, it’s like people saying Christmas needs changing. It’s fine the way it is.

I do think some things can be done better. But if we’re talking about league structures and the football pyramid I think it’s fine. The only thing that’s problematic is the amount of money at the top and how hard it is for small teams to do well. One thing the Gary Nevilles and Jamie Carraghers didn’t get quite right is while there is competition as in 11v11 each match, the 11 man city get to put out is way better that it almost feels like the result is inevitable. I think equality measures such as the top clubs helping out lower leagues not in direct competition with them would bring up the standard and give them a better chance. In turn this would create better players that would also filter up to mid table clubs like a Southampton or Leeds in the prem.
