I'd love to know more of what actually happened at Southampton. They signed him in January 2023 on four and a half year deal. He then signed a five year deal in October 2023. Then went on loan to Juve in Jan 2024 and then they sold him to Flamengo for similar fee to what they paid in August 2024. Flamengo now loaning him back out.

Kid's had an odd career so far so he needs to find a stable home where he can play week in week out. 18 games and 4 goals last time he was in the prem. Pretty good considering Saints finished 20th by a distance.

Read earlier the option to buy with Juve was €49m or something absurd.

Apologies if this has already been posted but had a look at the only Southampton forum I'm aware of and it has plenty of opinion on him from page 6 when he started playing:
First comment loves his bravery, runs and not afraid to get shots away.
"Full of energy and got a turn of pace."
Pretty much all liked him and him being benched in the championship was due to Russell Martin not rating him amusingly.

Think Moyes may just have a new Cahill to play with...

Doesn't sound like Moyes rates him much either...

Will be even be in the country by the morning? I doubt he got on a flight immediately, will then acclimatise, do a medical and then get to the game in that time

He joined in January and played 18 of the remaining games that season. Which must have been most of them. Then played 23 the following season in the championship up to January. You said he didn’t get many stats yet figured in virtually every game,
Surely he didn’t come off the bench 40 times

He didn't play much in the first two months of last season. Just reading through that thread posted and apparently Ruben Selles hauled him off at half time in a game he was playing well in. Southampton been a real basketcase with players in last few years.

Plenty rate him on their forum so a rough diamond signing imo and well worth the gamble if it keeps Doucs away from starting games.

Didn't you hear what he said about any new players we may get: they wouldn't be the ones we'd want ideally...or words to that effect.

I was staggered at how dramatic he was there today. Made a bit of a fool himself.
