Against the odds I’ve managed to get myself a Series X.
Woke up at 0745 to get on 4 sites early, got in 3 basket queues with 2 crashing when I pressed pay and the other not actually selling the X version. Microsoft’s site then stung me along for hours before running out.
I thought all was lost until I walked into my local Smyths store 10 minutes ago where the teenager behind the desk was like “yeah we’ve got loads of them still for pre order mate”.
Even Microsoft have sold out but a bloody kids toys retailer has done me a massive solid.

Seems like PC/PS5 is the way to go since Xbox games will all be on PC there is zero reason to buy a Series X. Just spent a bit of my postgraduate student loan on a Dell 1440p 165Hz HDR IPS monitor for a little over £300 after student discount. Never had a display faster than 60Hz and I've been putting it off too long.
Get alerts set up on Amazon for when more come in. Hopefully next round of pre-orders will have some bundles, I'll be going for one with Demon's Souls ideally.
Are the price of games rising again too? See a few pre-orders at £69.99 for games on PS5 - that's absolutely ludicrous money.

I will just wait and see what allocation we get in work mate. I ain’t paying over the top for something that will be readily stocked soon enough.

Really high scoring review but the only thing I was apprehensive about was the black uniformity, but people in the comments of that have said their displays have great black uniformity so perhaps reviewers had a slightly off model. Even if the black is off slightly, everything else is pretty great.
Buying from Dell directly, they offer an additional 15% off student discount so I got it for £331.49.

this is why console gaming can end up every bit as expensive as pc gaming (provided you buy games).
I remember it was something like £54.99 for the digital console release of modern warfare whereas you could pick it up for £19.99 for pc from a cd key website. Comsole gamers get absolutely bummed when it comes to the cost of games.
It will be on PS5 at least, Sony upped the price on both games and controllers.
Xbox kept the same price on controllers etc, but I don't think there is any info about the games.

Price gouging is crazy, I have Mario 3d all stars physical, on ebay ita going for 90 quid and only came out last friday

Hadn't seen that review, cheers. It does look very tempting. The main thing I'd be concerned about is IPS glow - haven't had one before and it's the kind of thing that might irritate me. Anyway, let me know how you get on with it if you can be arsed.
