Computer games.

20 hours enough for me, will be about 15 hours extra with Side quests. 100 hour games just too hard to complete the days
I can’t imagine the side quests being 15 more I’d say if you completed them all it would be triple or quadruple the story length. The side quests can alter the main story drastically aswell I hear.

GameSpot review is up, her complaints stem down to her not being a fan of RPG mechanics or her basically not understanding the premise of the game, looking forward to playing it myself though

The reviewer didn’t even bother with new cars, clothes, weapon upgrades or even interacting with the world events, then complained there is too much going on hahahaha

Game journalism is the worst it's ever been.

It's either on bended knee to publishers for access and money, or incompetent. No inbetween.

I take her point on ludonarrative dissonance, the bugs (which isn't a surprise, the game was delayed for a reason) and even the "set dressing" complaint (nothing gets on my nerves more than having really detailed stuff in games that you can't interact with; it's fluff), but generally she's complaining that she wanted to play a certain game and didn't get that game, instead of reviewing the game itself.

I fully expect a lot of similar complaints. The game's enormous levels of hype will get many people to get it with all kinds of random expectations.

You tend to forget with reviews that they are done by one gobshite. With their own agenda or taste. Aswell a lot of reviewers rush games to get to the deadline and when you can hear a lot of those frustration in the review as they are trying to finish it and there’s just too much to do and cover. No way to play such a game.

You hear some absolutely ridiculous lines. Like ‘too much stealth sequences” in a game like metal gear solid.

The single most cringey thing about gamers and gamer culture is the inability of a large portion of gamers to accept that a review is a personal opinion, actually that's probably a lie, eSport is easily the worst thing about gaming culture but aside from that gamers saltiness over reviews is the worst.

Id honestly love to have a job reviewing games, puts you in an amazing position to wum gamers 24/7.

The next-gen update for Destiny 2 dropped yesterday. A friend of mine who has a Series X said it looks and plays fantastic. It still has a F2P experience, so no excuse to not at least give it a go if you have one of the new consoles.

Agreed, I also think to a degree for me when I hear this whole “next gen” experience I’m expecting more from Baldurs Gate 3 than Cyberpunk in fairness. The fact that they’ve crunched for like a year straight to make Cyberpunk doesn’t bode well. I’m expecting it to be a very good game, but not as groundbreaking as a lot of people are expecting it to be
