Computer games.

That patches are available on PS5. I actually played it for the first time in a few months yesterday and had to download one. Did a couple of hours of the early story. Lots of bugs but none that made it unplayable at all. I quite enjoyed it but need to play more of it to get a better idea.

It was shockingly bad at launch. just the inconsistency was ridiculous. XBSX was the same. Bits of it would look stunningly beautiful. Bits of it looked like a bad GTA3 clone.

Nowhere close to a finished game.

EDIT: Just in case anyone thought I was exaggerating, that’s a screen grab from a scene from Cyberpunk 2077 running on a Series X.

If someone told you that was a PS3 you wouldn’t think they were lying.

Late ps2 even

You must admit you’d have to wade through some pretty bad games to find anything even remotely interesting though. Id stand by the fact if its not on console its because its just not as good, and the time spent developing it properly wouldnt be worth it.
The is no measurement that can do justice to how dumb this post is.

I have to honestly admit this monkey would beat me at pong or mindpong.

Bought the Binding of Isaac expansion. Still a great game but why oh why did they make curses so much more common?

Looked good on a current PC - a company of historically PC-first devs, and I'm afraid it showed.

I honestly can't see how they released it in that condition for consoles unless they were going under if they delayed, as they spent all of the goodwill they built up over fifteen years by releasing in that state.

PS2, even. Awful.

Doesn't look too far away from Fallout 3 on PS3 (although that was an incredible game).

I compare Cyberpunk much more closer to Fallout than GTA in terms of open world mechanics. Just so mad that the same team who hit every tiny detail in The Witcher 3 were happy enough to release Cyberpunk in the state it was in at launch. That said though, as mentioned, I really enjoyed the story and the character development... just wanted more of that!

Pretty much the same here, id happily play a new GTA and dabble in a bit of Warzone or R6 Siege from time to time but beyond that all my favourite games are made by smaller devs who don't need to worry so much about selling 10s of millions of units and can take bigger creative risks.

If you ever get round to checking out iRacing let me know, can probably get you a discount code for the initial subscription ;)
I’m really intrigued by the whole early access set up. It has made developing games a bit more accessible to creative minds. Sure, there’s plenty of duds, but games such as SCUM look great and it’s still only at 0.6. I feel like the creativity in PC gaming is the best it’s ever been right now. It’s refreshing as I fell out of love with gaming completely a few years ago. I’m as keen as ever now.

Nice one, I can definitely see myself having at iRacing go at some point!

When you say dumbed down I read it as Undercomplicating.

Theres a reason those games don’t get a wide release and it usually coz they’re terrible.
DayZ is a good example of why good PC indie games often don’t come to console. It struggles to get 30fps even on PS4 Pro and lags worse than anything I’ve ever played. The rendering is laughable at times. Even the dumbed down console version is ahead of most PS games though.

Then there’s the controls. A lot of games translate badly from mouse and keyboard to controller. I like games like Theme Hospital etc. but they’re horrible with a controller. I bought Prison Architect for PS4 recently. I loved the idea of it but I played it for an hour and never played it again due to the controls. It wasn’t enjoyable.
