BF6 trailer tonight, pretty much the only new game I'm interested in... it better be a lot better than BF1 and BF5 although moving back to modern setting almost certainly guarantees this to some degree.

Im clinging to the hope they have something to prove after the beating their reputation has taken recently.

Got about 9 things arriving in the post tomorrow. Can’t wait to get started.

open it up and re-seat the gpu and the ram. will save you a heap of time if there are issues. They can often dislodge during shipping a cause grief.

I was tempted to give this a go with the new PC, but I think I’ll go for Squad.

I’ve had a thorough check and the GPU had indeed dislodged. I gave it a gentle push and it went back in.

With my limited knowledge they seem to have done a neat and tidy job.

Dual channel RAM, cable management looks good, nice catch. You won't be overclocking the CPU with that stock cooler but unless you're really bothered about a bit extra FPS it really won't matter.

I’m not sure the i5 10400f can be overclocked, but it goes to 4.3ghz which should do me.

In an ideal world I would have got a Ryzen 5 3600 or better, but I wanted the 3070 above all else. I’ll upgrade the CPU in a couple of years or something if it begins to bottleneck the system.

I’m coming from 30/60fps on console, so 100 will be a dream.

Well, the RAM is installed in the right slots for dual channel operation.

You went with a mATX formfactor? Obvs that is all perfectly functional, but the CPU cooler is fugly, and IMO, will be well worth paying a bit of money and getting a decent cooler that blows air to the rear of the case, rather than directly down onto the motherboard (you are going to end up with dust accumulating in hard to reach and sensitive areas (around the cpu socket, exposed ram slot and VRM's), which makes keeping the case clean a bit more challenging)

You might as well start mining some ethereum to help offset a bit of the cost of the new machine!!!
