Computer games.

Anyone tried the new Opera GX browser, thoroughly recommend it, it's very good and it's for gamers. By far the best browser I've used.

almost completed Resident Evil 4 on the Quest 2. never played the original so can't compare, but this one is brilliant fun! all about the gameplay...so smooth and moreish. More action-packed than Half-Life: Alyx.

Surprisingly the basic (tho' still decent) graphics and odd 3rd-person cut-scene don't detract. Excellent performance from the Quest 2, not even dropped frames despite sometimes heavy-duty hectic action. Opens the door for more classics-in-VR.

If anyone's yet to try but plan to: play standing with at least 2x2m space, start on Normal difficulty, turn on all smooth continuous movement, have all the weapons on your person and turn off sight-aiming/music...maximum immersion, hefty challenge! Not actually far off the ad:

@maccavennie did you beat it? i'm stuck on the cart-ride on chapter 4-3 with no ammo left lol

I use it on all my PC's, have done so since it came out half a year or so ago, including work. Separating workspaces and the fact it remembers which instance was on which screen makes it brilliant.

Also use it for resource management reasons too, it's great.

I think it's brilliant, so much customisation, easy to use interface and looks great. I have started using it as my main browser now.

Yup. The marketing "for gamers" thing is so bizarre as well, it's just a customisable browser that gives you deals when available lol

Has to be said resource wise (in default mode) it's similar to how normal Opera is. Better than Chrome/Firefox but still not a "lightweight" browser by any means.

Haven't purchased this game yet dh though on my bucket list as a game to play.

@Dylan

Do you know any guides for DCS world on how to approach missions in a realistic manor ? I can now fly a couple of the jets ok, understand the systems etc but ultimately when it comes to doing missions I don't have the first clue as to how i should approach them or what tactics should be used. Feels like all the help for the game is related to getting you in the sky and understanding the planes systems but no actual training on how you should attack objectives etc

Redkite on youtube. Meticulous and methodical about aircraft setup and weapon employment. Then there is a youtube channel called 'Airwarfare Group' (I think) made up of former military pilots and current commercial/private pilots who highlight tactics.

This one is a boss of a video for Hornet radar:

And there is a guy who does tutorials on ACM (ie, 1 circle, 2 circle etc) that I will dig out for you later - just at work and i can't think of who it is off the top of my head.

It’s the Airwarfare Group who do them.

Here are the offensive and defensive BFM playlists

I also refined my SEAD/DEAD (or wild weaseling) after listening to a Weasel pilot on the fighter pilot podcast, where he gave direct information on how to dismantle a SAM site. Pretty amazing (and ballsy!!!!) stuff!

(The FPP episodes are long, but amazing to listen to if you are remotely interested in the planes and the pilots who flew them!!!!)

Oh, I suppose I should ask what modules you have? I have the F/A-18C Hornet, and recently picked up the F-14 Tomcat. Also have the Syria map………

I have also been learning the A-4 via the super high quality free mod, and helicopters with the UH-60 Blackhawk. Trying to get my skills up so I can fly the Apache.

As a side note, I have a new job teaching avionics to Aircraft maintenance engineers, and part of that is running the flight simulators. I have already gotten to fly the Boeing 787 sim last week, and will be in the Airbus A320 in two weeks! And yes, I am talking about the motion flight simulators used for pilot training and proficiency. My new job if effin’ cool!

Decided against going with pre built PC and have knocked up this build. Anyone see any issues with it ? Am I forced to go with H610 motherboards if I have 1700 socket CPU ? Maybe I should go with a normal ATX motherboard rather than a mATX given the case size.

Im guessing the Ram is fine even though it says its 'AMD Ryzen Tuned' despite me not going with AMD build

The F/A-18C and A-10 as well as Syria etc, your job sounds cool as hell btw. Probably pick up the Apache as well when my mate gets round to installing the game.

You'll enjoy it, RE4 is arguably the best VR game to date gameplay-wise. Alyx is overall more spectacular but the pace and enemy Ai was sometimes lacking.

Glad to see quest talk on here. Not much chat about it.

Re4 on my list. I love playing walkabout mini golf and bowling with friend's. In death prob my favourite game.
