Computer games.

I had a bash this morning, looks like it's changed a bit since I last played. It'll take a bit to find my bearings again and remember what to do.

Managed to get a room carved out of a mountain but it was right in the middle of a mountain range and so every time I went out I struggled to find it again, never got a bed built.

I'll keep restarting while I'm figuring it out again.
Turn on the coordinates… I also play bedrock and it’s a game changer to get your bearings..If you can get wool to make a bed you can sleep the night away and having a room becomes less important.. even pros start bashing wood from trees.. but getting a bed is key! Once I’m ready for a starter house I always try find a decent village to locate myself..

Keep going!! Considering how many hours I’ve put into it now I’m still a noob

couldn't resist bagging these two via Steam Sale...modest reductions, really, but Obra Dinn (arty puzzle-mystery) been on my radar for ages and SpaceEngine (realistic explore the cosmos simulation) i had a few years back when it was pre-beta freeware...now VR-supported....nice.

Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster (PS4 Pro)

Never had a Dreamcast so never got to play this first time around. It's very clunky by todays standards and there's precious little "action" - but it has a weird charm and it's surprisingly absorbing and addictive once you get over the weird mechanics of it. Some of the controls are a pain and there's some annoying bits you have to repeat. Fascinating scale and ambition of it. It was apparently the most expensive video game ever produced at that time - $47 to $70 million which is incredible given it was around the year 2000. Music is great on it and the cut scenes are still impressive. A lot of focus on character and storyline. Just avoid the horrible English dub, set it to Japanese with subtitles and you'll be just fine. I like retro gaming and this is a interesting glimpse at a pre- GTA3 world.

Absolutely loved Shenmue when it came out. Felt incredibly different to anything I'd played up to then. I remember actively enjoying the bit where you had to work as a forklift driver for a bit when in all honesty it is a very dull part of the game. Also remember nearly smashing my Dreamcast when I couldn't find the bar that the sailors hang out at (not as weird in context as it sounds...).

I never played it but can vividly remember watching my housemate trying to win the forklift race and failing every time. Also lots of time was spent buying mystery toys.

OK as promised... the sailors make an appearance at the 1 hour, 9 minutes and 25 second mark...... I got had off by them at first (Horrible QTE fight system) but then had my spinach and battered them, Popeye style...................
