Computer games.

Wonder will Starfield boost popularity/sales of Xbox, never in my life i met anyone that owned Xbox (living in Croatia and Germany). Since i was a kid and PS1 and PS2 era, everyone had PlayStation console or played on PC.
Of course old PS1 and PS2 were chipped and we all had tons of burned pirated games as kids (big boost for console popularity back then).

Xbox here is rarer than unicorn

Dunno man thought the same for us (Bulgaria) cuz I'd barely seen it - turns out people just don't really feel like boasting lol

Quite a few friends and current colleagues had/have Xbox, which was shocking to me lol

Around our parts it seems people are still stuck in the "the console is only for FIFA" mindset for some reason, Mortal Kombat being a second choice. It's like no other games exist lol

I remember PS1 and PS2 era when everyone mocked FIFA as being total crap and pretty much everyone played Pro Evolution.
Back then during summers i was working as volunteer firefighter on one of the Adriatic islands, and we would spend like majority of our 6 hour shifts playing PES on good old PS2.

But yeah PlayStation here is literally synonim for video games, Nintendo got kiddy reputation and is regarded as something you gift to your kids or nephews and Xbox is non-existent.

I've gotten back into FM recently. I'm 22 years into a save.

I started off as Everton, steadily got them up the table.

I left after the board refused to sign a younger from Middlesborough for £30m. He had 5* potential and I was desperate at the time due to a massive injury crisis.

I took Ghana to a World Cup QF, losing to the eventual winners Italy in the 119th minute. Own goal by my keeper. Gutted.

Left Ghana and took over Brazil where we won the Copa America.

Everton came back in for me, couldn't say no.

I resigned after the board sold Ben Horril - the lad from Middlesborough I tried to signed years ago - behind my back.

League One AFC Wimbledon were in administration, so I went there - saved them from relegation into League Two and then took them up the season after. In spite of this the Chairman refused to offer me a new deal and I ended up taking a struggling Abderdeen. A season there where we finished 3rd after selling most of the squad and playing kiddies led to my appointment with United who had been flirting with relegation for the past 3 seasons. A squad clearout and investment in youth resulted in United being back ontop.

I resigned following the CL win, and Madrid came in for me. I was ready to sign before Cardiff, who had spent the past 23 years languishing in the Championship came calling. I took them up, finished 10th in the league in my first season back in the Premier League. Just finished the second, where we finished 6th.

Here's my current statistics:

Just started playing again a few weeks ago as well. Will take me til FM25 to do 22 seasons tho! Currently in Nov of my first season. Sometimes I load it up, spend ages faffing around on other stuff (here/facebook/youtube etc) then don't have enough time to do anything meaningful so just shut it down again! :o

The gist of a 120 hour play through?

I'm only about half way through now anyway, but basically; parasite in head, adventure to cure yourself and maybe kill some big cult with loads of random DND style shenanigans along the way
No experience of BG before, so the fight systems are impossible to penetrate. Got killed first hit three consecutive times and said 'screw it'.

Personal opinion, the combat is rubbish.

The rest of the game is OK, but I don't understand all the praise it gets. I was expecting more TBH.

I'm plodding through it bit by bit, but once I finish it, I won't go back.

I bought a Steam Deck and play it on my 4 hour daily commute, lunch time and when I’m waiting for stuff to finish when cooking

I've seen a lot of people pushing back against BG3 recently. It's pretty strange because it's as close to flawless as I've seen for a long long time.

I think this is the problem when a very niche game gets relatively popular. People go in expecting something that it isn't. It's a Dungeons and Dragons game, not Dark Souls. The party system is essential to the game and obviously the turn based combat is too, it wouldn't work any other way.

People just need to go into games and enjoy what they actually are, not what they want or expect them to be.

I nearly bought it the other day, but I watched a few vids on the gameplay and the combat will never be for me.
