Computer games.

Game journalism is awful but yeah. For all of the scope and content put into Bethesda’s games they have been awful writers for some time and cutting corners with their releases. I hope Starfield is worth the hype and I hope they put more effort into the story, voice acting and polish but I’m expecting it to be underwhelming in that department.
I played Skyrim and Fallout 4 and i don't remember anything about stories or interesting characters from those games (something about dragons). I liked those games because of wandering around and exploration mostly.

Completely opposite with Witcher 3 for me, world, story and characters is what pulled me in (despite clunky combat), i even read the books after playing the game.

If you took prime CD or Obsidian casting and writing and combined it with Bethesda you’d have an incredible game. I still feel like the jank as Longers mentioned needs to be ironed out as coders and developers are much more knowledgeable these days but I’d settle for an actual experience that I’d remember. Skyrim and Fallout 4 certainly weren’t that apart from maybe the modding scene.

I got a bit bored with it in the end - have the final Boss fight parked and not done it yet. Still think it's technically great (looks phenomenal) but lack of a compelling story just boils it down to Link legging around finding Shrines and lighting up the depths for no real reason. Feels like a giant DLC more than a standalone game.
in the same breath as what I said to Blueclouds, I did also think this and whilst i'm glad I finished it (the ending has a mental setpiece worth doing), it did feel overwhelming in the final stretch with how much stuff there was to do

Finally finished Tears of the Kingdom on monday. absolute monster of a game content wise that one, but they need to wise up on the story dialogue. Stop plating my arse about the fact that i'm Link and grow a set. Sages were right gimps
Great game!! I’ve got so much I haven’t done but because I’ve beaten the final boss i feel what’s the point of finishing the side quests..

Looks like Starfield need a patch or two (or mods). Just in the first hour i've had dialogue that doesn't match the animation, music starting before the loading is done which is making it lag. Certain areas freezes completely if you move the camera from left to right, which is very annoying during combat etc. Looks great and the fps seems to be fairly stable though..

I’m curious to see the base building and property/economy aspect of it. Writing-wise it seems as bland as the last few Bethesda games from what I saw but it has potential in other areas. They need to add more to the procedurally generated zones to bring them to life and obviously polish it way more. I do like how mobile the followers are- it doesn’t seem like it will have the issues like Skyrim where they get stuck on literally everything.

Yeah I hope it opens up a bit later on, because the story has been average at best so far, so I think they'll have to lean on the sandbox aspect of the game. Think I'll wait a few weeks before I continue just to see if they can smooth out some of the annoyances tho.
Also had a follower get stuck inside a wall, so there is a bit of Bethesdaquality in the game.
