He'll bring his men in as in assitant manager, goalkeeping coach, and first team coach. Along with his scouts, but the rest will stay i reckon. Even if he brings those in mentioned it'll just fill the gaps left by those who have left for united.

The predictable appointment - maybe not most people's first choice. He basically got the job in the quarter final.

Hes our frst foreign manager. That will seem odd! :)

Don't know if anyone's posted this yet but I found it on youtube and it's an interesting insight into Martinez.

One last point on the stats front: regardless of the goals per game (not massively impressive) I've never seen a team create and then subsequently miss more chances than Wigan. The season before last I saw them conjure up a few misses of the season in a single game. I've actually rarely seem them dominated under Martinez, they usually were the better side whenever I saw them including several games against us. They coupled this infuriating chance-missing with some unforgivable defensive errors: as a defensive unit they weren't even always terrible, they have given some terrific defensive displays when called upon - Blackburn, Arsensl and Liverpool away when they stayed up year before last spring to mind. They also completely shut us out this year what we all recognise as one of the best away performances at Goodison by any team never mind Wigan. I would, therefore, not be overly concerned by how Sky and others have portrayed the (admittedly negative) stats. Have faith that with a much more capable group of players and a far more forgiving budget we will fare better. In principle, I would regard Martinez as near perfect: everything from his impeccable character to his commendable philosophy are excellent. It is time for that to be put into practice; it's a shame things didn't go better for Wigan, but I have every confidence they will for us. It's a new dawn - and I am going to savour every minute of Martinez' sunrise.

What's our name?

Not the most inspiring signing, but I will give him my full support and hopefully be eating a plate full of humble pie this time next year

His favourite main course is SNAILS!

No, sorry mate but Wigan were sh*t.. That's why they went down. Did well in the cup that's it.
Agree with your confidence in him being able to do a good job with our players though.

Why shouldn't we set the target of playing CL football.
We have just finished sixth and had a realistic chance of fourth up till about five or six games from the end.
Everton are a big club, with a squad of top class players that some of believe are capable of delivering even more than they already have to date.
I want a target set for the manager,I want him to know that we want to go higher in the league.I think he looks at the players he has just inherited and feels like a child in a sweet shop.Baines,Gibson,Jagielka,Jelavic,Mirallas,Barkley,Osman,Pienaar,Coleman and Fellaini.A lot of managers could only dream of having players of that calibre in their squad.

My only concern relates to the future of men like Stubbs,Ferguson,Weir,Sheedy and Neville.
Apart from being able to provide continuity and stability, they are Evertonians, they have been bitten by Everton and will forever bleed blue.I do not want them lost to the club, I welcome new faces, new ideas that will provide a synergy but not at the expense of men who have done well.
We have a number of young players that must now be excited, optimistic, nervous, determined about next season in a way they were not a short few weeks ago.Duffy,McAleny,Garbutt,Long,VelliosLundstram,Barkley,Francisco Junior and maybe even Bidwell.

Some months ago I described David Moyes as a "nearly " manager.I feel that his natural caution will prevent from taking that extra risk needed to acheive great things,I still feel that to be the case, but will probably find out sooner than I expected how right or wrong I was,but I have felt for some time that he had probably stayed longer than was good for him or the club.
I have a level of excitement about this summer and next season that I haven't felt in quite some time.It is the prospect of facing into an unknown and uncertain future as much as anything else.

We are guaranteed nothing, time will tell us how good a manager we have on our hands, but even preseason friendlies have taken on a new meaning.

I am looking forward with great hope ...and this from a man who first supported Everton when the great Harry Catterick was in charge, who remembers men like Billy Bingham,Gordon Lee and I think Dave Clement for a few games,Dave Watson for a few games, the great Howard Kendall 1,2 & 3,the great Colin Harvey, Lee,one of my great heroes the one and only Joe Royle and others besides.I have been on so many journeys...some good, some not so good ...today I have started yet another and I feel just as excited as every other time

Im gonna support him as he is a nice guy but im still worried tbh, I think this season we will do alright but when he starts replacing our defenders/other players im gonna worry

I'll give him until Christmas. If we're in the bottom half of the table at that time, I'd expect him to be sacked as it'd be clear we'd made the wrong call.

If he finishes outside the top ten in his first season, I'd expect him to be sacked.

He's not a big name manager, therefore he has to prove himself, and if he doesn't he's out the door IMO. Everton should not be the safest job in world football just because we're a "nice club".

Patience, yes, but not stupidity. He's taking over a top six club. If he doesn't at the very least maintain that stature 18 months from now, he should be out the door.

This post couldn't be more wrong, especially the bolded bits. Give the man a chance to implement his methods ffs. We're not the RS cult.
