Roberto's been allowed to bring his entire backroom staff from Wigan. Compensation agreed for them too. At the same time sacking Stubbs, Ferguson, Weir, Round, Lumsden, Woods and Holden apparently most were out of contract, due to having the same date as Moyes.

Manager: Roberto Martinez (former Wigan player)
Assistant: Graeme Jones (former Wigan player)
First team coach: Graham Barrow (former Wigan player and manager)
Youth team coach: John Doolan (former Wigan player)
U21 coach: Dennis Lawrence (former Wrexham player)
Goalkeeping coach: Iñaki Bergara
Chief Scout: Kevin Reeves

4 of which were Wigan players from their League Two days.

Sorry for the questions. #1. Is this confirmed? 2. What positive/negatives do we know about the staff? Good at developing, finding players, etc.

If this is true, it's an absolute disgrace.

That's a load of bull

BS - Round and Woods are going anyway so to lump them into your sack list means we can't rely on anything you say.

Interesting listen.

With regards to Martinez / our staff. It's not his style to sack everyone already working at clubs, he brings in staff who already know about the club. It's unlikely he'll make many changes, he'll bring in the scout, the assistant manager and a first team coach / goalkeeper coach. We have lost all of ours to man united, so it's natural to replace those with his own men. As for the like of Dunc, Stubbs, Weir, Sheeds etc. They will more than likely all remain, and Martinez is meeting with them in the next few days.

Happy face from me with the appointment, as for the negativity in this thread, just can it. The guy has just been appointed he will need time to settle and prove himself.

I want him to say something proper boss in this press conference. Talking about how much of a big club we are would be nice.

I hope he doesn't say that. It'll sound to some as though it's something which needs to be pointed out.

Think those who don't like EVERTON on the crest. 'They know who we are'.

Anyway, it's settled now, and although he wasn't my first choice I'm not unhappy with it.

He comes across as an intelligent man, has a lot of experience and we should forget about the negative aspects
of his time at Wigan. This isn't Wigan and he'll be in an entirely different environment with different options.
