CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

It is NOT the losing of Moyes that concerns me - he's done a fine job (ok, no trophies but plenty of progress and what not) - it's his right to move to the best club. Good luck with that cos it's United "risk".

The big problem is our board - will they find someone good enough to maintain the progress we've made or will we be appointing yet another manager who has never won anything? The only managers we've ever appointed in OUR ENTIRE HISTORY to have won anything previous to Everton were Harry Catterick (Rochdale, Div 4) and Smith (Rangers) - unless you want to count Kendall's previous at Everton.... because Moyes was a gamble that worked whereas all the others were not. That's the problem - trusting this incompetent board and owner to get things right.

They got Moyes right.

Moyes seems to only know one way of playing. It's hard to imagine that he'd suddenly play the open, attractive football that United fans demand. Draws won't be enough to win them Championships either.

Really, I think that he needs to take the final step with us of getting us into the mix with Arsenal and Spurs and then manage abroad for a couple of years before coming back to a big club in the Premier League.

I somehow think that there will be a few twists and turns in the saga yet.

Eh? You are one of the few people in the English speaking world that thinks that then. It's a completely done deal. Every sourced-up media outlet in the country is running with it. It's clearly been in the offing for a while too.

It's a major concern for me too. The whole "well he picked Moyes" thing doesn't wash with me. That's one good decision and a whole bunch of horrible mismanagement. I'm supposed (on a sample size of one) to think he's top class at picking managers when he's utterly useless at everything else? Ugh.

Here lies the problem.

Moyes ticks the corporate boxes. He'll be cheap to buy ie zero. He'll be there for the long haul. He has an eye for a bargain. He will keep the team competitive.

But what he doesn't tick is the end game. The results, the silverware, the experience in Europe, the winning mentality.

This will all be on SAF who makes the decision. If he thinks he can do that, then he's got the job.

Personally.... It's too big a job for him as he's still learning his trade.

Put into perspective, it's almost like us employing Martinez. A massive step up from Wigan to Everton, who ticks certain boxes but is questionable when it comes down to fundamentals of winning games that a club of our size needs.
Not really too sure about SAF's input.Man Utd is a big global brand I think it'll be a board choice. And a Moyse appointment won't increase share values.

Does anybody have anything concrete apart from speculation? We all seem certain it's done but is there any evidence he's agreed? Why doesn't he come out and talk?

Could you imagine if the conversation went like this.

"Hey Bill"

"Oh, hey Dave - you gonna take the United job then?"

"Maybe, got a few questions for you first."

"Oh?"

"Can you give me £40m and the promise that none of our players will be off next season?"

"Eer, b-b-bu.."

"Give me a answer Bill."
