Covid Passports and Testing etc

No you can't. If you refused someone entry based on their race for example, you may well go to prison.
Only if you can prove thats the reason. But I feel you are digressing from my original question which was why the govt would implement a covid passport just so they can track you, when they already have more than enough means to track your every move? I am genuinely interested in what you believe the mechanics of this to be

most buildings are private property but if you refuse entry because he's ginger, or gay, or black its still discrimination based on a protected characteristic and is therefore illegal

lawsuit time
Yeah but thats different though, besides show me a pub these days that has a sign outside saying no blacks or gypsies, if you can Domino has a point.

I cant get my head around how it would work anyway. It might just work for a once in a while event say a concert or similar but not for a daily, weekly, twice a month event like going to the pub or the game. The amount of data that would need to be entered and updated would put any system under huge pressure and mistakes will always be made.

If we cant get track and trace sorted not sure a bigger national system like Covid passport will fare any better.

Projects of this size take years and often fail at the cost of billions with nothing to show for it.

I've heard the travel passport argument but that is supplying data once and it lasts for 10 years so not sure Covid passport is comparable if it needs regularly updating with jabs and test results.

The number of variables is too great not to cause issues. e.g. your age, number of jabs, date of last jab, have you had the latest variant jab, number of tests, date of last test.

The time it takes to update any system with this data could be days which is then too late for you to get into your event or even go to the pub.

How do you correct any data that is wrong. e.g. system says you haven't had both jabs so that's a fail and you don't get let in but you know that you have had both jabs?

And we all know when it comes to sorting out any medical issues or questions you've got no chance of getting an appointment for ages at your doctors so who would administer this whole system/process.

Nightmare!

Tracking is the less important thing. The way more concerning thing is the carrot and stick approach to being able to have your rights.
Also this is nothing like that, any random pub won't be tracking your phone and barring your entry at the moment, whereas with this new passport system, every one will be required to make that decision upon entry based on whether the government sees you as worthy of entering a pub.
So if I understand you correctly, it's not the ability to be tracked you are worried about, it is the piece of paper that says you have been vaccinated which is the problem.

I'm hoping I have misunderstood your point

of course he can, if thats the policy

trainers and masks are not a protected characteristic last time i checked
Correct, they're not. If he decides to implement a "No Mask - No Entry" policy he's entitled to do so. Doesn't even need to state it in written form anywhere.

Genuinely confused what side of the fence you're on.

Nobody is talking about the Blacks, the Gingers, the Gays.

And if my aunt had balls, she’d be my uncle.

you see all kinds of evil intent, I’d hate to have your outlook on life.

I have a very cheery outlook on life actually - I'm an optimist and look for good in everyone I meet, and in every situation I face.

I live a law abiding, compliant life myself, but I wouldn't trust this lying shower of cheats, criminals and self-serving hypocrites as far as I could kick them.

I also see evil intent in every single thing that Johnson and this government touch, so why wouldn't I doubt their intentions on vaccines, and vaccine passports? They couldn't lie straight in bed, so why should I believe them on this?

If you can't see anything wrong in how they have done and are doing things, then I can't help you, and I'm glad I don't have your outlook on life.

im not on any side im just stating what the law states

Well, I don't even have a regular passport, or a drivers licence for that matter. I've never been tested for Covid and I've refused the vaccination. When I feel comfortable about the side effects (the blood clotting thing) being under control, or minimised, I shall gladly get a jab or two. If once that is done they want to sit me down at a table and take my photo and print out an ID card for me (Costco style) free of charge, then so be it.

I was saying that monitoring your activities more heavily was one of the reasons that this is being introduced instead of the given reason of stopping disease.

I am worried that the government shouldn't have the power to arbitrarily create a barrier to you having your rights as a human being. As has been proven so far, this will be just the beginning, this is the start of social credits.

Sorry, I should have worded my previous post differently. I was not talking about breaking anti-discrimination laws, I was making the point that if I own a shop, I already have the right to refuse service to people and don't need to wait for a covid passport to come into effect in order to refuse service.
