No offence taken mate.

But Everton play football in Liverpool. Not wherever that stadium is.

Exactly mate, which is why it won't look like that, people are just assuming red brick and linking it

for example, this was actually a red brick design built by Meiss.

Rather than looking back at GP the design should have a statement about the city...something that associates the club in the mind obviously for the watching global audience.

It's our chance to regain that association that Liverpool FC have monopolised for decades.

How that should be done is his area of expertise.

Yup and pretty sure when he was looking for inspiration he was researching the city not looking at pictures of dixy and an old prison tower mate

Cripes.

Hope he has dried out/sobered up since.

But I aint an architect, and maybe have terrible taste in buildings and that.

Miller Park is a great place to see a game. Wrigley north. It's the baseball park in Milwaukee. Get some cheese curds and beer.

All that superstructure is for a retractable roof.

Not a fan me.

For one, from the outside, (which a lot of folk will see on pics and that), it doesnt look like a sports facility, let alone a football ground. Looks like a train station/warehouse/prison.

Thats kinda why I like it, doesn't look like a generic sports stadium... looks like some old historical building of importance to my eyes. The interior looks frigging amazing as well, jaw droppingly good imo.

I generally prefer American stadium designs to what we have in Europe as well, they always look far more epic and interesting. Footy stadiums are nearly always as generic as it gets and really underwhelming bar a few standout ones.

I can get that view. But for me, whether its brick, steel, glass or plastercine, it has to be instantly recognisable as our football ground. I that takes a while, then fine.

It's just down to the City you are building for mate and knowing what fits in with the history and what exists already, take the new Roma ground, looks absolutely amazing, you stuck that into central London or on the docks it would look laughably bad.

Fear a lot of people don't take that into the context, the true success isn't if it looks like x,y or z, but if it feels like home and fits the city and the people.
