The Premiership would have seen very little of a lot of very talented players if falling foul of the law debarred a player from having a premiership career.

Roberto Martinez said:“It would be just a loan until the end of the season and then both players would return and compete strongly in pre-season.”
Yeah, heard the same thing on the garbled press conference video - very weird.http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2016/01/12/mcgeady-gibson-moves-only-temporary
Am I missing something? Did Gibson sign a new contract and the club just didn't report it? Why would he report for pre-season if his contract ends in June? Or, is Roberto off his meds?
wasn't it McGeady he was talking about?http://www.evertonfc.com/news/2016/01/12/mcgeady-gibson-moves-only-temporary

He was but he also talked of "both" returning for preseason.wasn't it McGeady he was talking about?
Last appearance was as a sub against Norwich in the league game on 12th of December. Was on the bench until last week against Spurs where he didn't make the 18. Who knows if he'll even be involved this weekend? Linked with Sunderland and Villa apparently...

Conning everyone that he is still under contract so they pay us a transfer fee?!?!
We actually were going to give him a new contracthttp://www.evertonfc.com/news/2016/01/12/mcgeady-gibson-moves-only-temporary

Hopefully it is Robertos sales pitch to offload the pairs of clowns. Gibson problem is alcohol and always has been going back to his Utd days and mcgeady is just muck ... Good days work if he gets them both of our books !!wasn't it McGeady he was talking about?
There is a world of difference between the two.
Sturridge has done FAR more them than Gibson has for us therefore he deserves more patience which most of their lot won't give him. Plus Sturridge hasn't embarrassed their club with drunken hit and runs when he's supposed to be working on getting fit. Sturridge isn't a reported alcoholic who cares more about getting wasted with mates than he does about his career.
We actually were going to give him a new contract
