Yeah, I remember that. A bit strange that nothing followed and then 6 weeks later Gibson mightily screwed up.
If it turns out that his contract doesn't end this summer it could be that he signed a new contract before that and we thought it would be bad PR to announce it after he got in trouble.

Get him off the books. If he's either so arrogant or brain dead that he'll risk his life/career or someone else's life by drink driving while contracted to this club then he can do one and no amount of cultured passes will change that. He's on stupid money and can pay for drivers to and from wherever he goes drinking. Same goes for Stevie "keeping it real" Pienaar tbh.

We need to keep Gibson. He's genuine quality and we've had need to call on him lately and he hasn't let us down.

As for a loan to help him play for his country: he can achieve that better being a bit part player here than sinking with Swansea or whoever. Robbie Keane is guaranteed a place and he's in the MLS ale house league.

But Jagielka is just a "decent"?
Oh David...

.....he's a fine footballer but you have to balance whether he offers value for money taking his injury record into account. His off field misdemeanour tipped that balance over the edge for me and I wouldn't be sorry to see him go.

Such a wasted talent and that must be painful for a player, injury or not he isnt in bobby's eye as first team player and everybody makes mistakes in life, the lad has only really got 1 more possible contract in front of him so would be good if he could find that elsewhere and finish his career on the pitch

I would not mind if we kept Gibson, I still think he can offer us something and is much better in possession than any of our other midfielders. We should definitely get rid of that useless lump McGeady and also Naismith in the January window though, Kone's crap as well - maybe a 3 for 2 offer will help get rid.

Gibbo's 4th year anniversary since signing today. Still never lost a game he started at Goodison. Wish he'd been able to play more like...

Have to say Eggs, I agree with you on that.
