No idea what game you lot were watching....

Did zero apart from a few passes, a disgraceful foul on long and waddled around looking disinterested.

Look at the energy and quality compared to a 17 year old who got on the ball, tackled well, kept things simple and showed some desire.

If those on here don't think Darron Gibson was the best player in blue on the pitch today, then they have either never played the game or are only new to watching football. By miles the best out there (for us) today.
Nice, short passes to feet, not afraid to tackle and moved it quick because I think that's were we fall down, taking to long to shift the ball. He had to take that bloke out too otherwise we'd have conceded, so no problem with that.

I've mentioned it before, but Martinez isn't doing Niasse any favours amongst fans with playing him a few minutes here and there.

Quality player, might be broken a lot of the time but the times he is fit its criminal he doesn't get more game time, especially how crap we've been. He never looks off pace either after being out just runs outve juice after 70 odd minutes.

Stupid. Same nonsense spouted about Barrys deliberate fouls when he hasnt the pace to get back and tackle.

A defensive midfielder wouldnt have their player goalside like that...he does nothing but stand around and wait for the ball to pass along....no other attributes and i dont see Bayern in for him or anyone else.

His pace or positioning had nothing to do with that phase of play. Funes Mori went for a wander and we should be grateful Gibson was mindful enough to be anywhere near the resulting attack.
He shouldn't be put in the the position to have to make that tackle, crap as it was.
