2024/25 David Moyes

So you dont demand miracles but you do demand instant results?

Id we'd of brought in potter everyone would of been say he needs time to implement his style on the team and such. No one would he expecting much from the next 3 games.

This all just boils down to my original point people who dont want moyes here are so desperate to be proven right that their going to cause a kick off as soon as they can about him not being the right man. Even if the odds of him wining the next games are against him.

Hes going to have 3 days training with the squad before villa and people are demanding a win. Its madness

Surely not an easy start to have for an Everton manager, but a good start would help him and give the team a boost.

8 of the next 9 games are against teams that are currently placed bottom half teams, some of them are bottom half teams, but some of them are top half teams playing like bottom half teams like Spurs, West Ham or Man United.

Somebody saying we need to demand an improvement? Isn't that literally the point of getting rid of the previous fella, so we improve? Maybe I missed those posts but I haven't seen any hostility towards Moyes or fellas willing him to fail. His appointment to me, was just very underwhelming.

I think those of us who didn't specifically want Moyes, merely wanted someone new, someone with a different mindset different to what we've seen before. I'm not exactly sure how anyone is going to be 'proven right' (or wrong) whether we win, lose or draw? I assume, closet kopites aside, all of us here want him to win every game including the FA Cup final. I do.

Would be nice to surely win Palace, Wolves and Leicester and maybe Spurs at least, would mean 3 direct competitors and Spurs.

Can't really judge Man United and West Ham yet, Brighton was a good place to get points for us in recent years, Brentford really good on their ground.

Every game on that list is winnable with the right attitude and performance

Meh, 3m year contract, 5m a year, 15m, nothing money.

2.5 year contract, £12.5m.

Yeah, that pretty much is nothing money to an established Premier League club. If it’s your money or you’re the Everton CFO, I could understand you piping up, but that’s not the case.

If he improves the results this season, we won’t get relegated. With Dyche, we were in a relegation fight. Staying up is worth far more than £12.5m. Even if we sack him off in July.

What?

I wonder if Moyes will have any impact on the tactical side of the game and developing players and helping them build their knowledge of the game and understand their roles. I wonder …

Moyes's Everton:
At the club’s then-training ground at Bellefield, Carsley and some of his team-mates would gather to take their Uefa C license and see if they’d get a taste of the coaching bug.

‘Yeah, David Moyes encouraged us to do our coaching badges. There would have been myself, Kev Campbell, Steve Watson, Dave Weir, Alan Stubbs, Kevin Kilbane, Mark Pembridge,’ recalls Carsley.

‘It definitely got us thinking more about football and his tactics and his thoughts. We’d understand what he’d be doing as a manager and how that was working. It definitely helped.’

Dyche's Everton:
The response in the dressing room to his departure has been mixed. There are plenty for whom a change could potentially be beneficial. According to sources consulted by The Athletic, some players complained about the lack of guidance tactically and in training sessions, craving more detail.

Some attacking players felt they had too much defensive responsibility and were isolated, leading to slumps in form and confidence. Leading the line or playing on the wings were seen as thankless tasks. Wingers became secondary full-backs at times and were exhausted by the time they reached the final third.

Just been given a warning for my Dementia post. Ridiculous as that is because it was only a joke. I said it before, old man says Moyes is a good appointment, I say does he have Dementia? Because it is a stupid and desperate appointment.

But I digress. What I did find most amusing was this statement that was copy and pasted from the GOT manual to my inbox.

"GrandOldTeam prides itself on offering Everton fans a place for intelligent and respectful debate about the issues that matter to them, offering a feature-rich, intelligent and moderated forum for our readers to share their own personal views on all things Everton FC"

Intelligent, Respectful, Feature-Rich????
