2024/25 David Moyes

That was not the same tonight at all.
1, Moyes had our fullbacks going past the halfway line.
2, we looked like the home team for once.
3, we created chances, yes not great but still created them.
4, possession stats we had more.
5, it wasn't just hoof ball.
6, subs were not the same 56 min, Dyche would never do that he would wait until the 75th then pull Harrison.
he would have also swapped beto for DCL, and not play them both
Picked same team Dyche was playing. Similar tactics. Of course Dyche would have swapped Harrison for Lindstrom on 59 minutes, we’d conceded a goal. Dyche would have definitely stood on the sidelines making no further tactical changes/subs until the 83rd minute! Dyche has brought Beto on to play with DCL before.

Had two training sessions mate

With the squad we have I think a back three is our best option, I really think O'Brien deserves a run in the team. It gives us two quick centre backs and one very physical one, it also let's us flood the midfield and have two up front.
I agree i am hoping he didnt do it tonight because he didn't have enough training sessions to get it bedded in but its a better option also gets Patterson in the team

I'd bet we start with three or five at the back against Spurs. We looked more comfortable at the end, also many of Villa's chances came after some doubt-able decisions by out CB's. Barring the the head-less Ashley Young pass "towards" Pickford in the first half.

Both Tarkowski and Branthwaite sold us out tonight, multiple times. They drifted forward, which is fine. But noone covered for them. A three at the back might help solve this.

This also moves Ndiaye central, with two wing-backs.

Have been a big critic of Myko', but he had some decent deliveries tonight.

Lindstrøm, Young or Patterson at RWB, also makes more sense with a three at the back, to allow them to help the attack. Personally i'd go for Patterson.

Beto or DCL up front is the big question to me. If Chermiti was available i'd start him just because of his age. That and the other lads have been crap these last months.

I'd go 3-5-2.

O'brien - Tarky - Branthwaite

Lindstrøm/Patterson - Gana - Mangala - Mykolenko

N'diaye

DCL Beto

If he'd go with Patterson, i'd play both Lindstrøm and N'diaye behind a single striker. Would also allow McNeil at LWB and save us some money and go for a midfielder and striker.

Christ, Snivelly is unlistenable, the cringey crawler.

I felt sorry for Moyes there.
Can't stand these interviewers, putting words into the manager's mouth with loaded questions.

Here's an example of something similar to many of the questions that get asked by the Everton social media team:

"David, Abdoulaye Doucoure was all-action out there tonight wasn't he? He really looked impressive covering the entire field, getting tackles in and supporting the attack. You've got to be delighted with that."

Instead of:

"David, what did you make of Abdoulaye Doucoure's performance out there tonight?" and letting the manager answer in his own words.
