2024/25 David Moyes

They are not devoid of ability.

DCL can score goals, Dyche has killed his confidence with his "defence first" football for years.

Let him score a couple of goals, and his confidence will be back.
‘Let him score a couple of goals’

It’s hardly a decision we have to make when he seems absolutely incapable of missing what are considered gilt edge chances in the league. When was his last goal?

We weren’t great but we where better then we have been
Pure wishful thinking/seeing what you want to see for me. Again, not an issue with Moyes because he had the same players and only a couple of days to work with them but there was just nothing better about last night in my eyes. In some ways we looked worse because we had more of the ball, and that just highlights how bad we are with it and gives us more opportunity to mess things up.

That's it. He's in there for a reason and it's not pretty but it attempts to serve the intended goal of producing results
Yeah. I think because teams can get at us so easily because of the lack of pace in midfield. He’s just not helping matters going forward at all. At some point it’s going to have to be about taking a risk and playing a more progressive player in there but I can accept that against sides like Villa and spurs we would run the risk of being overrun.

It’s not though is it?

If I was a grown man, who in 2025 still considered trying to wind up football fans on a forum to be a useful and productive way to spend my time, I’d probably be a bit disappointed with myself.

About as funny as seeing blood on your loo roll.
There's no wind up about this. I am terrified about where we're going under Moyes here.

Maybe he needs one of those fluke goals; anything.

He needs to believe that he can score goals.

Just my opinion so I might be wrong.

He can yes but if DCL has more than 1 second to think about it then he misses, he’s not clinical at all.

I thought he played ok last night which is a huge improvement on what he’s been showing

Moyes literally said pre match media round give me couple of games then start blaming him.

Big difference for me already Mylenko looked much better overlapping and put in some good crosses, that most believe he was not capable of doing. Energy at times was much better, creating chances putting the foot in etc.

Competed against much better Villa side, no one would have blinked on that performance if we had managed to get a draw.

Gone from no hope to some hope within just one week of new managment.

But we didn’t get a draw, we didn’t score AGAIN. Can’t decide if that tepid performance was better or worse than the reverse fixture where we threw away the 2 goal lead.

Lampard has the worst league win ratio out of Dyche, Rafael, and I suspect Moyes too (tbc)

Love the way Carlo, FSW, Dyche and now Moyes have all played Doucoure and the GOT commentators are still like 'hmm, how can they not see what I, a fan who doesn't take any training sessions and has never worked in football, can see'
He can't pass a football, he doesn't chip in with goals anymore. He doesn't offer anything apart from running around a bit. You don't need to work in football to see differently, we all have eyes.

But you don't think a PL manager with decades of experience is best judged to figure out what happens to the shape and game plan without him? There's more to the game than what they're contributing to the attack and with our precerious position, these small things all matter.

Every game we have and every lineup is just risk management for the past 3 years.

As you say for large parts of previous manager stints, he was at least chipping in with a few goals to help mitigate the fact he's one of the worst technical footballers I've seen in the last decade.
