Confirmed Signing Dele Alli

Hmmm.. before you start mouthing off and being a keyboard warrior … I’m not backward or Aussie …you do realise that people move countries in their life if they want to don’t you?
Second….do you think ali is worth any sort of fee like 40m. If we sold Richy we would probably get 50?
DCL was being touted at 60m ? These are our two most sellable assets and are important players for us… ali has been frozen out by 3 managers , has hardly played and has done f all for about 2 years, is on massive wages and they want him out … he’s their equivalent to our bolasie , gomes , tuson etc …. As in we can’t shift them …. 40m is ridiculously expensive for him .
Dele Ali is no one's equivalent to Tosun or Bolassie - be serious.

Ali was an exceptional player who has gone badly off the boil - everyone can see that's a risk, but he's proven. Tosun and Bolassie were established average players who could never be good if they played a million years of football.

People moaning about Alli when we have the following bozos in our midfield collection:

Delph
Gbamin
Davies
Gomes
Our midfield squad, with rotation and substitutes is much stronger now IMO.

We have more players to change the game now.

Dele and DVB with also be great assets in games where we a likely to have more of the ball

Provided we stay up, I think Alli will be a replacement for Richarlison, who I'm sure will leave in the summer.

Richy is a great player and one of the only players in this squad I like, but he is very difficult to fit into the team as he doesn't necessarily have great attributes to be a winger or main striker.

A front two of Calvert-Lewin and Alli could be very productive, provided that Alli can rediscover some of his old form. When you look at his goal clips though, a lot of them come from excellent long diagonal passes from centre backs or brilliant back post crosses from Erikson. We don't have anything like that kind of supply line at the moment so he's going to have to be more creative in a midfield three you would expect for the time being.

I’m not a fan at all. I think he has lost his desire and is a bit of a tit, but he’s here now and I’ll get behind him.

When he was at his best he was an intelligent player that got on the end of things, whether it be flick ons, assists or goals. He was a key part of a very good Spurs side for a good period of time.

The more I think about it he’s not too dissimilar to Lampard in his playing days. Lampard used to score a huge amount of goals arriving late in to the box. He must have confidence he can revive his career. If he can pull it off it’ll be impressive.

Agreed. Alli was a top player and hopefully can be again. He’s still young and I don’t think he’s been ruined by injury or anything. Also worth remembering the £40million figure is based on a hell of a lot of performance clauses. If he’s average we most likely pay £10mill.

You rarely see players turn it around though. Think it’s a desperate signing but we’ll see

So when you call people like Ferguson a galoot and Moshiri a carpet bagger, what class of person are you then?

Let's be real about all this. Is Alli a risk? Yes.

On a free til the end of the season we were never gonna sign a player who at the top of his game week in, week out.

Newcastle have signed the Brazilian midfielder for £30-40m and I am sure they are hoping he can produce similar levels in the PL to that Alli did at his best.

For the money and the circumstances, it is a good signing with the potential to be great.

I’ll have a think, but to be perfectly honest I follow football a lot less than I used to and am only really half bothered by Everton these days, so I may struggle.

Pienaar is one that sticks out to me. He didn’t make the grade at Dortmund but became a great player for us. He didn’t have quite the fall from grace that Alli had, but there are some similarities.
