Confirmed Signing Dele Alli

He's a left sided / central attacking player...just the area that Gray picks up the ball in and likes to cut inside and get a shot off.

I am 99% certain he will not play that role.

Considering he has played 357 games, and played 47 of them as a left sided midfielder, I am pretty confident he will be no where near that side of the pitch.

As far as risks go, this is an amazing one.
If the lad is just ok and we do nothing, we pay going rate for a squad player.
If he and us do well, we pay a little more. Bit the advantages to us are better.

I hones dont see anything wrong in this deal, and would even call it genius, in the way it has been done.

All else fails, we sell him in 18 months and get a few quid back.

Mourinho's comments actually favour him, as you cant trust Mo on anything he says.

Like him or not, Mourinho is still one of the best managers in the world. One of the best managers of all time. He knows a good trainer and a bad trainer.

You've named three managers that a lot of people have found to be generally unlikable. Mourinho always singles somebody out as an example of what happens if things aren't done his way. It's part of why he tends to leave the place worse than when he found it, even though he often has some big successes prior to that.

On the Amazon documentary Mourinho didn't single Alli out, he continued to play him but demanded more from him, calling him lazy and a bad trainer. He also spoke to Levy about this too. Nuno is known to demand high energy and organisation from his players. He dropped Alli. Conte has barely played him.

I hope Alli sees this as fresh start and can rediscover the motivation that made him one of the best young players in the world 4 years ago. It is a gamble worth taking but it is still a risk for the club, I think.

What is this £40 million that's being bandied about?
Do we have to pay that if we win the Champions League or something?

I think for it to be anything close to the £40m it'll be winning trophies and goal dependant.

The only figure I know they'll get (but not till next season) will be the £10m. Unless he scores 15 goals this season and that's part of the fees.
