….that would be lunacy. You’ll be wanting to give him a new deal next :coffee:

Well.......lets see how he gets on. lol

I dont think we are getting betterr in the market for 10 mill to be honest.

While im also thinking we usually spend 10 mill anyway sacking a manger and his staff around the first week in Jan, lets not do that and spend the money on having a sprinkling of creativity in our midfield. Its usually dead money anyway - so im not going to stress about it. If we can bear it for that we can bear it for this and let it add value to the squad. We are in for 5 mill anyway on his wages, so put it to work rather then write it off.

…the reality is, it’d be exactly the same as paying £10m to loan a player for this season only, but in this case we’d be paying £10m (in addition to his mega wages) for a player with his issues.

You should apply for a job on this Board, Matey :bye:

It's the size of the fee though isn't it. It was rumoured to be £10m every 20 games. And then he's out of contract end of the season.

I can't see it working unless we renegotiate with Spurs. Would love to be wrong.
We were supposedly about to pay £30m for that Bilal Toure. If you’re telling me that you wouldn’t pay £20m to have Dele play the season (if he’s near what he used to be) you’re mad!

Deli is not on his own, but if EFC offered 'performance related' payments only, our annual wage bill would be cut by 75%

The wages are coming out our bank regardless and I think we’d have 6 games before we trigger the first £10m so surely that’s worth a punt if he’s feeling good and performing in training
