One of the best gif's of all time!!

YEEEESS! Dele Alli getting his favourite shirt number is great news. I'm all of a sudden far more optimistic about the coming Season. If he's only half as good as he used to be then he'll be twice as much better than he'd be if he was only a quarter as good as he was. Exciting times ahead for us Blues; Everton might even get to make his loan deal a permanent move now.

Can't we figure out some snide way of avoiding paying Levy?

If we sold him would that sever our agreement with spurs in terms of appearances? So sell him to someone, then buy him straight back or something...?

Rooney was never World Class, certainly not with us, but in my view he never quite got there... he didn't want it enough to me.
Hot take that.

I think Rooney was definitely world class. And as for not wanting it enough, thats crazy. If anything, he wanted to win so much, he sacrificed his own personal glory.

I have personally, never seen another player for Everton with the level of ability he had other than maybe Southall.

He had everything.

I dont understand with the concern regarding the 10m fee.

If we trigger the payment it means hes played in 7 games, which would surely suggest hes done enough to get games?

As somebody else said, its a win, win.
Another way to look at it is the £10m is for 27 games, which is 2/3s of the season, and we dont know if its PL or appearances total, so it could be more (given he was cup tied when we signed him anyway).

If he is back on it, back fit, and going to contribute, its a bargain.

Its less than what we spent on Maupay.

…’never wanted it enough’ must be one of the great inaccuracies ever posted on here. Here he is at the end of his career with all the wealth he could ever want. playing football mattered to Wayne Rooney;

As this is the Deli Alli thread, I’d be expecting him to do that if we paid another £10m this season.

He could have been world class, certainly. Had he not gone to United and instead gone to Spain just as the Messi / Ronaldo show was starting he probably would have been, and been spoken of as being up there with them in ability.

Instead he went to a club that was still winning things but was on a fairly clear downward trend.

Really shouldn't be using Maupay as any yardstick for anything, another massive error by our recruitment team led by yours truly, Chairman Bill..
