Confirmed Signing Demarai Gray

I mean, even Townsend managed to get 13 England caps, so don’t really think International Football is a fair indicator.

Personally, from that small sample size, he seems to have that great burst of pace and loves getting in the box, which if it links in well with say Townsend could be fantastic… could be a Baines/Pienaar, ultimately we don’t know.

Personally Gray, we cannot lose on it. It’s not taking a punt on a 28-year old, for £50m. It’s £1.5m on a lad who’s lost his way, if it comes good it’s really astute business, if not, we’re not haemorrhaged with £125k a week ala Bernard and Sigurdsson.
Mate, Palace fans who watch Townsend every week are saying his pace/legs are going. Place didn’t offer him a new deal, they’re relegation battlers. Gray has done nothing of note for years.

If it comes good? Well yes, if it comes good then £1.5 million is great business. The chances of it coming good are remote to say the least. The far, far more likely scenario is we replace expensive players who contribute nothing with less expensive players who contribute nothing. That’s not leaving the team in a better position, although it will improve the balance books.

Replacing expensive bench warmers with better, cheaper bench warmers is no bad thing, mate.

I never trusted Kenwright for one second and still don't now however Usmanov and Moshiri are trying their best - they've spent a lot of money on players and are building us a top class stadium.

Not their fault Walsh and Brands have knackered us FFP wise. Was always going to come 1-2 years of reduced spending to balance the books.
Not their fault? They have given Brands a new contract. They obviously have no idea what is a DoF and what is his responsibility. They have signed a washed up kopite as a manager ffs. I have as much trust in them as in Matt Hancock.

Kenwright gave Brands a new contract mate.

Benitez even if he isn't what he once was is still better than some novice like Potter that everyone was clamouring for. Not like we had Conte and Poch banging down our door to work under current financial restrictions was it...

Errr Kenwright doesn’t run Everton so that’s wrong straight away

And please list all these people who wanted Potter, I reckon you’ll find between 10-15. But please back up your claims with fahcts

"Chairman Bill Kenwright added: "There hasn't really been any doubt for some time that Marcel (Brands) and I would sit down and agree a new contract. With Farhad's (Moshiri) blessing it took us around about one play of Z Cars to reach an agreement.

"As well as being terrific at his job, Marcel has an excellent working relationship with Carlo (Ancelotti) and with our CEO, Denise (Barrett-Baxendale) and myself and it was important to maintain the structure and stability we have put in place over recent years."
