He says he wants to know all about Everton and be part of the culture etc etc...well he hasn't learned a thing if he's downgrading this fixture to just another three points. That's Mike Walker-esque talk.

I'll be fuming with him if Barkley is left out tonight but takes to the pitch four days later against Villa. Someone needs to have a word in his ear and give him the history lesson he obviously missed.

So you'd really rather risk one of our most important players to be out even for longer, just for one game? I wouldn't.

Whether Barkley plays or not we'll still go for the win. And Mirallas is doing great in that role anyway, i'd rather not risk one of our best players being out for longer especially in a derby where those villains will be trying to snap legs all round.

I dont see the problem. Martinez has talked before about getting a player out on the pitch with an injection on a foot injury, but now when push comes to shove he wont do it for a fixture as important as this.

I tell you what I think: he's written this off due to injuries elsewhere in the team and he's concentrating on getting two or three back for Villa at home.

Not acceptable for me that sort of conservatism.

This is the Derby.

Honeslty i agree with you on some points about the board. But now you're taking pessimism to a new level. He goes out to win every single match, he'll do the same here.

Not taking a risk on a star player isn't bottling it. It's common sense, and something that could well be the difference in getting fourth or not.

Stop being a div, Dave. We're going to go there to win, with or without Barkley.
