If any one of those players we signed last year got sold for what we paid for them who here would honestly miss them?

They've not made enough of a difference and that's not asking for perfection but asking for improvement.

I wouldn't miss a single one of them right now because they haven't really made any sort of decent contribution. Not one out of 5 signings, 6 if you want to throw Lossless in for a laugh.

Theres not a single player in the whole squad who I would miss.

I'd miss Gomes for sure. Not on current form obviously but in a proper team he'd definitely be an extremely valuable player in my view.

Indeed, I'd be building our side around him.

I'm still conflicted on Kean. Every scrap of evidence suggests he's basically Niasse, but... I dunno, you see glimpses where he has a low centre of gravity, burst of pace and you think there's a very good player hidden there, but the odds on it ever being unveiled are shrinking by the day.

Gbamin, doesn't really matter what he could have been, the sad fact is he isn't and won't ever be now.

Delph and Iwobi are the only two write offs and, of them two, only Iwobi could have been definitely predicted ahead of signing them.

It really is difficult to condemn or defend Brands. There's a logic in what he does, but obvious mistakes alongside them. Iwobi was a clear panic buy, and I'll never 100% trust anyone who makes a panic buy in a role like that.

Thanks to getting lucky on one player and the Neymar deal pushing the market inflation to insane levels.

Every other player besides Deulofeu we lost money on Dave.
That's not true. Cleverley we got on a free and sold for £8M; Barry a free who was sold. Also, Mori was barely sold at a loss.

He was here 3 seasons and mostly bought in the sub £10M bracket.

It's silly to suggest we didn't do well out of Martinez fees wise, especially given the utter waste we've seen since.

It is true Dave. If he hadn't hit the jackpot on Lukaku there would be no profit.

Any money made on Deulofeu, Cleverley or Barry was easily cancelled out by what we lost on Kone, McCarthy, Robles, Besic, McGeady, Lennon, Tarashaj and Niasse. All of which basically left for free. That's 8 players he paid money for that we got nothing back in return for.

Take Lukaku out of it and he made a loss and a big one at that.
