Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

I made 2 huge mistakes today. I lost my bankcard and a small sum of cash on my way to work. Then I went home to look for it and told my GF what I'd done. She went predictably mad over why I can't do anything normally and why there's always something happening with me for about 20 minutes. I know that me getting fired and being a bit down about it must be stressful for her as well. I had a little panic attack that I tried to hide also (she thinks I do this to stop her being angry whereas in fact I just hate being yelled at: childhood hey?).

Anyway, I asked if we could have a normal 5 minutes before I had to go back to work and got told "But you're not normal!". Ouch.
My concern is that you're so desperate to please her and stay in that relationship, that you're willing to overlook, and even justify in some cases, what is some pretty awful treatment of you on her behalf.

I know that you consider yourself a bit clumsy or whatever, and that you've dropped a few clangers in the past. Of course she must get exasperated at times, as I am sure you do with some of her faults, but ranting at you like that and calling you names is not on, mate.

You're trying your best to improve for her sake and yet you're still perpetually walking on eggshells.

Please don't keep thinking you deserve this treatment on account of the fact you're a bit forgetful.
Well, yesterday just got worse. We found out in the evening that my GFs best friend passed away whilst on holiday in Bolivia. Cardiac arrest in her sleep aged 31. Puts feeling stupid about a wallet and a few quid in perspective.
That's awful mate. I am sorry to hear it.

Anybody done CBT therapy?

Just did my second course of it on Monday. It is very intense but well worth it.

I did a while back now mate and found it massively helpful, some of the things I had to do were well out of my comfort zone but when you actually participate properly and do the work they give you to takeaway as well it's a huge benefit. It can sometimes feel a bit repetitive after a few sessions, or at least mine did, but I think that's just to re-wire the way you think and make it stick.

Good luck with the rest of your sessions, let us know how you get on.

I would walk away mate. I'm very clumsy and always have been. My daughter is the same. Its just in your nature.
Your girlfriend needs to except who you are and support you. Most people laugh at clumsiness not criticise you for it.

You're absolutely right. I think it has affected many people in many ways.

One of our mates, teaches at a local primary / junior school.

She was telling us recently, that the lockdowns have caused carnage with the development of the younger children, in particular boys.

It sounds like a lot of it is down to them not being socialise, due to the lockdowns, during a key part of their formative years.

She said, some of them can`t speak properly, don`t know how to share, can`t interact in a group, the boys are very aggressive, don`t know how to play with each other, without it leading to a fight and the biggest one, is that the kids can`t concentrate.

Apparently, it`s causing a lot of trouble for the primary / junior schools across the board.

I can well believe it. It was the young I felt most sorry for. Teenagers to young adults who should have been out socialising and making relationships- platonic or otherwise. Huge gap in their development.

The lockdown, well both of them, have ruined peoples lives, and what annoys me is the lockdowns were not necessary, I meet people everyday who say I feel flued up, after jabs as well, pathetic !!
