Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

Cheers for responding boys, i went to see her and she said it happens at some point when you finish your medication, the relapse that is, its how you handle it determines what way you go.

its somehow easier on here, maybe the anonymity or the fact the people responding have no preconceived notions about the poster.

whatever it is it helps so again cheers

I've just ran out of meds, and for one reason or another have been unable to get them - really busy exam period - and it's exactly what you'd expect in regards to it being really crap... but anyway, I've had similar graphic dreams/thoughts.

I've learned to pay attention to it, but not to the extent where I believe myself to be some kind of serial killer. As Groucho said above, it's just your brain sorting stuff out/filing stuff away, so you shouldn't feel too guilty for it either. I think it's just your full range of emotion 'coming back', which can make you feel a bit unstable, at first. But enough of the psychoanalysis - the point is, 'I get you bro'.

In a stressful time and been told I need a biopsy, doc said most likely it's just nothing but a tiny tiny chance it's dangerous.

I'm not depressed but it's definitely messing with my head.

It's bound to cause some anxiety, you're human.

Remain positive, if the doctor has said the chance of it being bad news is low, then use this to reassure yourself.

If you need more information to ease your mind, contact your doctor - don't google your condition.

Your Doc has a duty to tell you the facts mate, he / she wasn't trying to scare you. As Groucho says keep away from the Internet as too much knowledge can send you into anxiety overload . Try not to think about it and leave it to the professionals.

not having a good time lately. had my chemo cancelled today. need another scan to assess then take it from there. another waiting game. going to see my counsilor Tuesday and she asked me today if i'd like to see a psychologist as I've been quite down. I was against it but after thinking about the mantra of this thread I thought what the hell go and talk. my oncologist said he wanted to prescribe me a mild anti depressant, I was really against it as I hate taking drugs ( says someone who's been pumed full of them for the past 3 years lol ) but as above I relented due to this thread. I would appreciate any info from anyone who is on anti depressants as to what they do, how they affect you and any side effects experienced. thank you.

Hi my man.
I can't help re the anti depressants unfortunately, but I am real happy that this thread is in your thoughts. Many of our regular support group in here, who I am am sure will come through for you again soon, need to be recognised by all of us.
Hang in there. I hope talking with your councilor helps.
My/our thoughts are with you.
