Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

My uncle died this morning. Feeling dead sad.

I've vented my grief to the other mods and they've been ace.

I know sadness and depression are miles apart, but this felt like the best place to post a message.

Bye Doug.
Sorry for your loss mate and RIP Doug.

It seems to me that this thread has no boundaries in the sense that while it has an obvious core content and people use it to vent, give and receive help etc it is also at times " the best place to post a message" on whatever topic currently concerns us. A sad occasion for you, but heartening that you , in particular, posted here showing the way is open to anybody to post on whatever topic is currently concerning them .

thank you for putting into words what I was feeling.

Sympathy for you mate, think of all the good times and revel in them thar memories.

@Groucho

The above is spot on mate. People die but memories, and the positive effects they've had on others lives, live on.

A mate of ours is in a similar position to @wbn61 except she only has a week or two left. She only found this out a couple of weeks ago, but it's given us time to relive some happy memories so there's laughter as well as tears.

You'll be able to do the same with your uncle's family and friends, and a little bit of him will live on through you all.

I'm simply agog at the strength wbn61 displays.

I'm sure he has his private moments, but what a guy. Really.
