Discussion & help on depression & mental health related issues

Praying for you mate. Don’t do anything silly. Especially about the team. Look after yourself and get to your mothers house.
Try to get a decent night's sleep then when Millwall draw City away it'll put it into perspective,we were never going to win the Cup anyway. I've been a supporter since 62 so have experienced so many defeats, believe me in the end you just shrug and get on with real life issues.

What I hate is when people tell me I'm not a good enough supporter because I'm not passionate enough or whatever. If this is passion, you can keep it. I stay out of Everton spaces these days because they just make me feel like crap.

I'm going to try and get through the night somehow.

It's your prerogative to be the supporter you want to be.

Hoping you have a calm evening.

We’re all Everton supporters on here , mate . It affects people in different ways . I’m currently enjoying my tea . Everton win ...that’s nice . Draw or lose ...oh well . I just get on with whatever I was going to do , anyway . You’re no less of an Evertonian than anybidy else on here . I live in Blackpool . In peoples eyes I’m probably a rubbish fan :p

Just ignore them . Go to your mums . Have a nice evening . Maybe some cheese on toast and a cuppa ;)

Other people only have as much power over you as you give them friend. Forget them, support however you want. There's no manual telling individuals there's only one right way to be a fan.

Other people's misery doesn't have to be yours. That's coming from a bad place in their own lives.

Yep me too , I’m avoiding all GOT threads tonight, they do bring you down on days like this. I’ve supported Everton for over 55 years so Im lucky , seen lots of good times , lots of times worse than today and am able to shrug it off. I hope you can too. Good luck and best wishes.

I'm suicidal because of Millwall. I'm really frightened.

You’re obviously very hurt by today’s result. We all are. But unless we’re betting heavily on results, we gain nothing material if our team wins and we don’t lose anything material or important if our team loses. That’s why being a football fan is not our most important role in life. We have far more important life roles: son, husband, father, friend, or work colleague, etc. If we don’t have any of these roles then our purpose in life is to plough on in life until we find ourselves a worthwhile role. Football is the commercial breaks in your life not your life plot! You have some good ads and you have some crappy ones. Neither is relevant in the great scheme of things. That’s the philosophy I’ve adopted after becoming fed up of the misery of bad results robbing me of days or weekends. Am I not passionate enough a fan? Don’t care. No club will erect a statue of the “most passionate fan”.

I know other things might not be going right. Don’t let your much needed energy and focus be wasted on the result of efforts (or lack of) some millionaire men who don’t even know you.

Stay safe.

The result has been and gone.

I’m charging you right now with a responsibility:

Post in here as soon as you wake up tomorrow, and the next day - as long as it takes until your head feels straight.

Why? I care about you and I know a bunch of others here will, too.

Our team can lose every game from here to May and go down but us GOTers will NEVER let a fan down. Trust me/us when I/we say it really is only a game.

I'm still here. Doing anything is an effort but I'm determined to get out of the house and see my parents somehow.

Tbh this thread is the only place I can post here right now because everyone's talking about changing teams and stuff. It's like 1998 all over again.

Thanks, everyone <3
Stay on this thread only, and if you have them and it's possible swerve Facebook twitter and basically any form of social media where people comment, might as well be honest there is going to be very little positivity about Everton until at least next summer.
Do you follow any other sports like rugby the 6 nations is about to start, that's always good to watch.
Ive supported Everton since I was 5 so that's 30 years now I've seen times a lot worse than this as you mentioned the 90s, obviously the fa Cup year was the exception. If you let Everton affect how you feel then you are in for a bad time.

Good to hear from you. We're all here to support you. Keep on posting.
