There is an effective player in him. I would like to see him played as the target man for the rest of the season, richy and lookman either side with Gana, Gomes and Siggy in a midfield 3. He could be a good striker if he learns to play back to goal with the players we have around him the likes of richy siggy coming onto his hold up play could be a new dimension.

We all hope for a striker in January, but being realistic here who’s coming in that improves us and bangs 10 goals in from January till May? Tough one. We have blown 60 million on Bolaise and Tosun in space two seasons why not give DCL a run with better creative players around him?

How much more does DCL have to do to at least be given a chance? He's only a young player with potential, he's not developing as fast as some other 21 /22 year olds and in 2-3 years he will still be under 25, which is the age that many young players have started to show their worth. We have to stick with him, because he's shown some great determination to improve, and if he just gets a run of form, or, say 10 goals this season, from 25 appearances as a sub or starter, t hat's a very very decent season. Write off last year, it was horrible for eveyrone.

Honestly it's a silly comparison...

We need better that is patently obvious...

However DCL is our best option as a striker, he clearly has more to offer & will improve with every game...

DCL is one for the future watch this space...

We can't sign Sterling or Jesus though and will be some time until we can attract players of that calibre (years and years for Sterling). Until then DCL is as good an option as anyone.

We should sell Cenk and Niasse in January to desperate sides and whack DCL up top as much as possible for the rest of the season.

I wouldn’t mind seeing how many he actually scores because his stats aren’t bad at all.

Who knows, it could be the making of him.
He’s shown a far bigger goal threat this season than last. That was always the biggest concern with him but 5 goals for us so far is quite impressive considering the minutes he’s had on the pitch. Should be given a run in the side up front for the next few weeks and see how he does. Good pace, height and works hard so he should cause a few problems.

At the moment he’s coming off the bench for 20 minute stints with the odd start in 5. We should just stick with him as our starting striker for 5-6 games and see how he does. Give him a run of games to establish himself.

...never a doubt for me that he’s the best conventional striker option we currently have. We look better balanced with Richarlison having the freedom to attack from the left rather than having to battle burly CBs for 90mins. I have a view that Richarlison will actually score more goals from a wide position.

I’m sure if you ask any Premier League CB who they least prefer to face between DCL and Tosun, they will choose DCL.

If we sell those two it will only be because a new striker is coming in.

To the play the remainder of the season with DCL as the only striker would be Koeman levels of mismanagement.
