Are people comparing DCL to Drogba? Come on seriously. Drogbas first touch and all round game were on a different level to DCL. Drogba won games on his own and scored absolute worldies regularly. And to the other argument that DCL is now played in a different system and that’s the reason we are seeing goals is also rubbish. He was missing chances regularly. Think Villa! That’s why he was getting slaughtered. Let’s see how this pans out. He’s scoring now which is far more valuable than anything else on a football pitch but his first touch and distribution isn’t great. Let’s hope he keeps the scoring up though because that’s exactly what we need right now.

No.... I've never watched the French second division..... it's a poor league. Which is surprising that Drogba was playing at that level at the same age as Dom..... surely at that level a superstar footballer would be scoring 50 goals a season?

Unless..... unless..... He may have improved after the age of 22, got stronger, worked on his finishing........? You think???

The thing about DCL is that you can see he really wants to learn and improve, there are plenty of lads his age who think they’ve made it by now and stop progressing and throw it away. Your Rooney, Anelka and Michael Owen types were natural and excelled from a very very early age, I’m hoping Dom is more your slower maturing player like Ian Wright, Shearer, even Vardy who maybe took a little longer to Progress but had much longer playing careers.

He was 24 when he left them and had scored 12 in 64.

(DCL has a better goals per game ratio than that btw)

Full of want to be experts ? Mate he was crap and we as a team were crap . I wasn’t all over it with “ glee” I was p’d off that we were crapand he was a massive part of that. You look before the derby game on here and literally 90% of the people on here were agreeing he was useless. 5 games later he’s Harry Kane again just like Barkley was the next scholes , Gerrard and Lampard

Drogba was about 26 when he first came to the league though.

Exactly Drogba was a tennis player until around 18/19 whereas DCL has played togger all his life.

I get that and I like seeing young players come through but I like my strikers to actually look composed in front of goal and despite his purple patch at the moment he still concerns me in that department at the moment.
