That's not an excuse. And if it is, it really shouldn't be.
We need to demand better quality than DCL, Tosun and Niasse. As soon as they're identified as not good enough, they should be out as quickly as possible. Kean, as highly rated as he is, should be under no pressure at all, he should be supporting a lead striker and being eased in to Premier League life.
Instead, he's now coming in with the spotlight firmly on him because nobody else offers a threat. He's got a mountain of pressure and If he doesn't reach at least 10-15 this season, there will be more cries of poor recruitment. Not exactly the best environment for him to thrive.
Money talks. Ambition talks. Show enough and you can sign whoever you want. City managed to sign some of the best players in the league while out of europe. If they can manage it, I don't see why we couldn't.

Again, I know. We bought one. He's not it. Why are we frustrated when the guy we are going to replace because he isn't good enough, still isn't good enough? We know. That's my whole point. It's silly.

It's not as easy as that though, you have to get the right player, if that player is not available you end up throwing money on a Cenk Tosun or somebody.
Kean has been brought in to fill this gap but he is the type of player we are looking at right now, young with loads of promise as the proven commodities are either not for sale or not interested in coming here.
I mean we could have taken a shot on a Haller or someone of that ilk but he went for silly money in the end and is not fully proven himself.
We have zero goal threat regardless due to poor decision making and pedestrian movement. We are constantly stuck hoping for a bit of magic from Richarlison or Sigurdsson (and probably Iwobi and Kean now) being a striker for us must be rubbish.

The team that finished the game v the Villains looked better apart from Walcott who should have been in the Zaha transfer swap offering 45 million ......So you`ve already written Kean off after 3 brief sub appearances ?

The type of football Silva has us playing is not bad till we get to the oppositions penalty area - it like City's type of play but ten times slower - they attack the same way they have five players in the oppositions box a lot quicker and they can finish - we could buy a top- top striker and he would not get on the end of anything DCL confidence is shot like to see us play with 442 -with Keen and DCL up top both fast both need through balls.......drop sig and play Iwobi there.....
It`s interesting to see some new DCL excuses seem to be emerging Joey.
So far we`ve had :
1. He`s still young
2. He needs time.
3. He was thrown in too early.
4. It`s not his fault he gets picked -------------( my particular favourite that one )
5. Keep the faith and the goals will come.
6. He`s not getting the service.
7. Play him as a number 10.
Now we have :
His confidence is shot. ( it`s not, he`s just crap )
and
Play him up front with Kean.
So, Silva changes the whole team formation and tactics to accommodate possibly one of the worst strikers we`ve ever had !

just because someone else in the squad is on more money it doesn't mean DCL is any less bad
fyi, out of the teams that have started the first couple of games DCL is definitely our main problem ( not for much longer with kean tbf )

Chronic mismanagement from Silva, Brands & their predecessors.
Round pegs in square holes everywhere.
so just knock the lad who cost us zilch - let the other prima donnas, and there were at least 9 v Villa off the hook - hey ho -yes he needs to score, but we have had 3 shots on target in the last 3 games= no creation.......
Silva sets the team up they cant play like Man City end of.....

I think so time us how long we take to get to the oppositions penalty area - a free kick in the opposition's half by Snides ended up back with Pickford....?
then he rolls it out pretty patterns no end product Dixie Dean would struggle in this team........

well 1 he wasn't free and im pretty sure he doesn't play for free mate, so jog on with the notion he's a charity
everyone was poor against villa, you are dead right, but DCL hasn't scored in about 15 games maybe? has everyone else been terrible in those 15 games? did anyone else miss that chance to level it up?
