Our defence defended far too deep if Burnley has gone in 4-1 up at half time if DCL had scored here and there all ifs and buts imo on the night we did not deserve anything .....
Another poor performance by the team v a relegation zone team .....that's 12 points thrown away .....injuries have not helped nor team formations either.....plus incorrect substitutions if he was that bad as some posters are saying why was he not subbbed?

We have no other striker to bring on would be my guess. Even if you think King or Richarlison can play in that role, we have so many injuries /lack of depth that there was no one else to come into the wide positions.
Dom had quite a few opportunities last night, combination of bad 1st touch and/or lack of composure put paid to any chance

Kane, fernandes, salah.
They have scored more then him this season .
Does he miss chances yes.
Can we get in someone better. No
All have had spells where they didn’t score as well.

Looking broader, for the England set up, Kane is the only consistent among Dom’s competition in that set up, the United duo of Rashford and Greenwood are misfiring, the latter hasn’t scored in the league since December while the former is on a 4 game scoreless run having had an earlier 6 game scoreless run, Danny Ings has had multi game scoreless runs and spells injured

i don't think its a joke, it';s just the stupidity of someone that just hasn't got a clue about the game. as if scoring tap ins isn't a skill. if it was so easy then every single player in history would score 15 goals min every season.
I can guarantee I know a lot more about football than yourself having worked in the game. I don’t post very often, when I post I post honestly which is my prerogative as a poster. Richies workload is 100 times better than DCL.
I am not doubting his goal scoring and the points he’s won us, but if I find a player I watch every single game, home and away lazy then I am entitled to say this. We would be worse off currently without him but he also should score and do more. If you asked me whether I would keep Rich or DCL I would choose rich every time.
i don’t post for reactions or to get childish bites, I’m nearly 50 years of age.
thank you and up the toffees

Wow. Another condescending post on here.
I know more than you.

Actually I was responding to the poster who was attempting to put me down. Am I just to accept the comment made to me. No and I won’t.

the form is for views and not for point scoring or making jibes

everyone has different views.
The biggest problem we have we DCL is he has no competition and he knows that so regardless of what he does or doesn’t do he knows he starts every week.
It was wrong for us to let Kean Tosun and to some extent Walcott out with no cover

It was absolutely right to let these two go

That's simply not true though is it?

And having worked in the game doesn't guarantee anything about knowledge. Plenty of clueless chancers and blowhards in every single industry and football is littered with people who are terrible at judging players.

We have a multitude of problems bigger then dcl. To say he is lazy to me me is a baffling comment .

Agree, he is the least of our problems, but would like to see him improve technically. But as a thought experiment, imagine that DCL had played alongside players Rashford, Greenwood, Maritial, BF, and company. I think DCL would have quickly been a striker who had ended up over 25 goals.

I know he missed a couple of good chances but he also scored. He did his bit. I know we expect multiple goals a game but that's not realistic he has 14 league goals this season and 19 in total. Given his strike rate so far this season 20 and 25 are possible if someone had said we would have a striker with then numbers we would have bitten their hand off. Only Lukaku has posted better for us in the Premier League era.

Name one striker who ruthlessly despatches every chance they get and never misses a sitter or has a dry spell.
No one is saying he should score every chance he gets that ridiculous.

Ill answer your question with a question. Name one "top" striker who cannot score outside the 6 yard box, cannot use his feet and 9 times out of 10 wouldn't back to score a chance with his feet.

I get the people defending DCL on here he has had a good seasosnbut I just don't get the fume and propa unwillingness to accept he's not yet a top striker when games like yesterday show exactly why.
