I predict if he plays all the remaining games he will end with 20 league goals and 25 in all competitions. That is a very healthy return. He has certainly done his part. Hopefully the 6 goals all come in different games so they can contribute to 6 positive results. He misses James the most I can't wait for our front 3 to be reunited.

If he manages 20 league goals in this side then people really need to admit, he is a very good striker. We are not exactly a creative attacking side, he feeds on scraps most weeks.

Indeed. Even against poor teams we rarely produce chance after chance. He's not quite Lukaku level for goalscoring but his all round game is better. Next season with a decent RF and AM in the squad it will mean there won't just be reliance on James to create chances for DCL and Richarlison. I honestly think in a full season he might get to 25-30.

I don't get this conception that all he does is score 6 yard tap ins and if he's not doing that then he's played poorly. There was some great examples to shown he's so much more last night. One was where he instantly controlled a long high punt up field with his first touch virtually killing the ball dead, to which the commentator let out a little ooo, then he turned and fed richarlison.....another example he had the ball in basically the left back position with three City players surrounding him, he held all 3 off and waited and waited until eventually playing it off a city player for a throw in (although its not attacking it still shows his hold up play and intelligence) . Or his turn and pass on the half way line over the top that was an inch off playing digne clear through. Or him getting fed the ball on the left wing, chesting it in front of him and but for a great tackle from lapore would of been away.

He's a special player and we are half the team without him.

He’s not an attacking threat until he’s in the 6 yard box - I think that’s the point and frustration. When we’re looking for a goal from nothing you genuinely can’t see him producing a moment of magic and in those tight games against the top clubs you need players who can do that. He’s nowhere near that level.

He suffers when he has to continually come deep to start spark creative play, which he did yesterday far too often. Definitely agree we just don't have the squad to manage the rigours of a season. Yet!

To be fair to him after the first sentence you’ve just described everyone in the squad apart from James who is only fit half the time. Most our wins against good sides have come from being hard to break down and going direct or set pieces

I haven't checked but I'm going to guess the crowd who don't want DCL are the same ones who didn't want Lukaku?
Why would you think that?

Youd stick your house car and bird on Lukaku slotting a half chance, you put the same wager on DCL missing that same chance.

Overall game is decent, not a goal threat though unless it's nearly impossible to miss. Needs to improve massively.
