Some take it as an insult when saying he only scores tap in's, but they're crucial. BUT, he's our main striker and whilst he's got strengths, his weaknesses worry me. Far too often this season I've seen him presented with a 1 on 1 chance and he looks like a fish out of water. If Monday was a one off, you can put it down to a bad day at the office, but how often is this happening? It's fine if you're 3-0 up and cruising, but we're not. They're vital chances.

Which ties in Richarlison, many teams have a striker who you rely on and then a second player who feeds off scraps and scores the rebounds/tap in's. We're missing a key striker. I don't see either of them as our "main" striker.

I do also think confidence/frustration is playing a huge part. Richarlison esp is so desperate for a goal that he's continually making mistakes and putting the weight of the world on his shoulders.

In order to get a top top striker in we need to be playing in the UCL. An Aguero or Lukaku type who you can rely on to score crucial goals would make a massive difference. But we aren’t able to attract “finished article” players at exorbitant prices at the minute.

I think DCL is very good in many ways but we need someone who can carry the ball forward with menace and finish those one on ones.

Any no 9 worth his salt would have that title - the fact is at least he's getting into positions to score - goals are sparse from anywhere else in our team
there were no one on here early season when he was banging them in for fun than utter praise for him Plus he has just come back after a ham sting injury - sorry, but when another striker in our team contributes 5 goals costs far more acting far more petulant in that game gets away with it & misses far easier chances in the same game - certain posters chose to pick on DCL - yes he should have scored at leat one I admit that - but Rhico missed far easier efforts he is forgiven?
We should have been 3-0 up at half-time Rhico 2 DCL 1 ... end of
 
At least he's honest -

Nowhere to hide this morning. I'm disappointed I didn't take my chances yesterday. We learn and we move. A week to regroup and time to kick on next Monday.-

Joey mate, you don't have to dig Rico out to defend Dom.

They both had a stinker, that's ok, we move on.

Wasting your time mate, people have made their minds up and want to trade Dom for a top, top Striker.

What they don't realise is that there are about 3 top Strikers in World Football, none of which would come anywhere near us and all have poor days like Rico and Dom had the other day.

I mean I was, but ok............

I said people want to trade him for a Top Striker, I'm not people, I'm me.

Ive backed Dom from day 1, granted at the start I was baffled why he kept getting picked, but his improvement year on year has been outstanding and I've said in the past I wouldn't trade him for any other Striker in the league.
