Ain't that the truth

Next youll be saying "hes downed tools" his heads been turned" "he's deffo off" and all the other unsubstantiated guff the boo boys spout
Not really. I'm not bothered if he goes in the summer. I don't particularly rate him. I think he is sellable and could help the necessary rebuild. I do judge him on his performances on the pitch, though - and like the rest of the side they really have been pretty abysmal. He's a millionaire - he doesn't need me to defend him. His performances could simply be the result of injury, a slower rehabilitation than we like, part of a wider team problem, poor management, or, yes, that his head's been turned and he, not unreasonably, fancies a move to greener pastures. I wouldn't blame him at all for that - I think he'd be nuts to stay with this dysfunctional rabble. But while he is being paid by us and playing for us, I'll judge him on his performances. They simply have not been up to par...for whatever reason. So, no booing from me. But no defending him from me, either.

I agree with a lot of that. The fact heis a millionaire is nothing to do with anything though.
None of us know what is going on with his form, its the fact that the boo boys have all made up stories which then become "fact" and another player gets chased out. Rinse and repeat

100% this.
I couldn't care less about his off the field choices but on the field he has failed in spectacular fashion just like every other player this season.
The players may think they're better than the league position suggests but we are but we are where we are because of them.
The board is not fit for purpose, Benitez was the wrong appointment, Carlo did a runner... all these things contribute but ultimately it's the players on the pitch that are the constant. They're the ones that have seen numerous managers sacked, bottled games and overseen arguably the worst season in our history.
The worst part of this is I don't think any of these players - maybe Gordon aside - don't seem to be affected by loss. Holgate's comments the other day showed that. They don't see the severity of the situation.

I disagree. The fact these players are millionaires means that what we really think matters inevitably matters a little less to them. If one of us loses a job, it's possible we may never work again. These players do not have to concern themselves with that. Hey, a new job as a model might even open up. :)

Sadly, the boo boys chase out people regularly. They did that with Benitez too - bedsheets at wrong mansions before he even managed a game. Our fanbase is what it is - and my eyes were certainly opened to that side of it then. The boo boys are a fact of life, sadly. Which is why the savvy player at least pays some small attention to perception and PR.

When Dom gets to double figures we will drop the double standards.

The fact he is a millionaire has a lot to do with it though, after all its his Football Reward that has made him a millionaire and one good season does not warrant not being able to criticise him for being very off form on the pitch.

I'm sure like us all he has his life event worries and troubles that bother him but on that Pitch is all that matters to any of us, even those deriding him because of his off field forays into whatever magazine or photoshoot he is currently doing, I mean who even buys magazines these days anyway, but that aside Football has made him wealthier than most of us could dream of and that is what I will judge him on and for that reason, I hope he bags a few to see us stay up and then he can head off gladly to the lights of the Big Smoke to do whatever he wants and his replacement will hopefully show some effort on the pitch.
