2021/22 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I don't really care what he wears on his own time but when he steps on the pitch wearing that kit with relegation on the line I would prefer he put the heels away, strap on some work boots and put a complete shift in whether he scores or not. The effort and concentration are lacking this year. He used to fight for everything and he got rewarded for that effort. I just don't see it anymore. It's sad.

Your bold stopped there just before 'given the lack of alternatives'

Teams with Rondon upfront go into the Championship.

We were god awful without Calvert-Lewin.
Our only hope is that if he does play he surely can't get to the end of the season without knocking in two or three for us, and that opposition defenders also remember what he was once capable of which allows him to occupy a couple of them, creating space for others. Christ, I managed to write a whole sentence without using the word 'hope' more than once!

He needs to channel his inner YMCA vibe, I can see him as the Cowboy getting chased by the Indians.

Yes, I am blanket labelling everyone who doesn't rate him as being in the closet... exactly that.
I think a lot of people have had an anti-DCL agenda for a long time and unfortunately (for them) had to keep a lid on it for the last year or so whilst he was playing well and scoring goals. It was always likely that the hate would spew out at the first opportunity.

The lad had a few month purple patch last year. Other than that, he’s been absolutely garbage and is a 1-in-4 striker…

A worse ratio than Chris Wood.

The first opportunity was in January when he came back and was crap and missed a penalty that cost us a point v Brighton.

This is 3 months of being crap down the line.

He needs to pause his fashion shoots until the summer preferably. I know footballers get a lot of free time, but he's clearly not up to speed. Instead of pulling on his miniskirts, he needs to put on his gym wear and focus solely on getting fit at USM Finch Farm.

I wouldn't drop him - I'd have him focus fully on training for the next 10 days and emphasise that he's got my full backing to make an impact between now and the end of the season.

We moan about Keane,Kenny Iwobi etc but at least they put the effort in. For me DCL has been the biggest disappointment in the team since he came back from injury, you can only blame an injury for so long, if he’s still struggling because it he shouldn’t be playing. Imo he looks like he’s lost some desire for playing for Everton, but time will tell on that one.

I remember Tim Cahill out with a very long term injury after breaking his foot. And first game back was away to perennial hackers and bullies Stoke. Started the game. He put himself about like a demon all game. And scored the winner in the 76th minute.

Dom will never ever ever be fit enough to clean Cahills boots. He is nothing beside Tim.
