Thelwell had from 2nd August when Calvert-Lewin broke down with a major injury again until 1st September to get a couple of forwards in and salvage this season.

It was used to bring in an attacking player that could never lead the attack and the rest of that window was used to churn out BS stories to the media that we were chasing down hard alternative strikers to Calvert-Lewin such as Brereton-Diaz.
That is a sackable offence. The only problem is that he was probably in cahoots with the board and owner on that, so who'd sack him?
2nd August to 1st September is when the relegation fight was hatched. Hot on the heels of us just surviving the previous season 2 months previoulsy.

If we weren’t so desperate, Dom would play 45min, 60min, 80min games for the U21’s for me before he set foot on the bus. For his own physical and mental benefit as much as the teams. It’s getting to the point that my first thought on hearing Lampard’s press conference was that I don’t want DCL getting cold sitting on the bench as there’s every chance it could aggravate the injury for the Brighton game.
It’s sad that I am basically looking at DCL in the same way that you would a pensioner in looking to keep them warm so their body doesn’t ache or seize up.
