The chances he's blown in recent months have been absolutely mad. Free headers straight at the keeper or over, through balls where he's 1:1 into the keeper, that effort last night. Something's gotta give because we're not going to score enough to stay up without him getting another 5+ goals minimum. We were 7 clear of relegation about 10 days ago, now we're in the bottom three if Luton win their game in hand.

Should have done better with that chance, which came at a critical time. Still, I feel a bit better that he's now staying (reasonably) fit and there is another option in Beto. While I know he was on the pitch for twice as long, Beto did way more than DCL in terms of giving their defence a bit of a workout, won some good free kicks etc. If DCL isn't slotting, he at least needs to be putting in that sort of work.

I do. He's been our main striker for 5 years now? Scores the odd good goal, misses plenty, poor injury record (not all his fault I get that). I get his qualities too but finishing isnt one of them.
Maybe you need to look at it a bit more objectively

You don't know what I think of him so you can't tell me to look more objectively. I have a very fair view on him. He's not perfect but he's nowhere near as bad as the likes of you make out and he's so important to how we play. He doesn't miss plenty because he doesn't get plenty of chances created for him.
Almost two seasons without him coincided with nearly getting relegated and that's no coincidence.
Oh and we ain't getting no one better than him any time soon so suck it up and get behind the lad.
