A) I’m assuming you are pointing out my spelling mistake of having a t on the end of thought? Which, if that’s the case, makes you look even more of a prat as it shows you have no comeback to the fact you are ignorant.

B) You didn’t state that. But seems odd to just ignore a load more of his goals for us which shows your agenda.

C) Yes, there has been bad management at not bringing in adequate reinforcements. But the bad management I was speaking of was by Benitez and Lampard who both rushed him back to soon and aggravated and worsened his injuries.
A), Ahaa you repeatedly slate me ignorant andI I don't respond, but point out a typo and hey presto :) Let's Keep it factual...

B) DCL's average of 7 league goals puts him in the same bracket as Andy Carroll, Shane Long, Troy Deeney et al. All relegated. There's others, just have a scout around strikers with similar output. A few extra IEFL goals haven't really got us anywhere in that cup any more than the league

C) I've seen one manager use DCL well - Ancelotti. He had DCL stay put in the box and wait for service, and take the work off him. You'll find so many fans on this forum have referred to DCL as 'Bambi' before now. Perhaps we're all ignorant and Ancelotti's a mediocre manager, too. Managers you mentioned did try and use him more -DCL's consistently not up to it.

Brighton game last season was great (did he also go off in that? I can't remember) and likewise 'that' header vs Palace.

My original point was this:
  • DCL's patchy fitness destabilizes the team. We can;t build relationships on the pitch, like little triangles of play between guys alongside each other week in week out, because he's never sustained a presence in the team to do that. I also stated he has ability.
  • We need a reliable rype up front who can help the team improve by always being there
  • If DCL has sufficient fitness to be an impact sub, fine - I never said drop him from the squad. Or that he lacks ability or is a bad or lazy person. But I firmly believe any attack with him as the focal point will see him join the group in B) above. That's just numbers and I don't want that to happen to Evertonif it's about DCL playing 15-20 games a year and actually planning for that.

so you make an ignorant comment about him “dressing up”, fail to respond to any criticism of comment, instead pointing out a one letter typo I made to deflect and you are telling me to keep it factual?

Was trying to give you the benefit of doubt by interacting but sticking you on ignore with the rest of the trolls.

Everton's 1st 4 games his season vs DCL's availability

Fulham - winnable - DCL not available - result, we lost
Villa - very difficult - DCL available, gets injured - result, we lost
Wolves - winnable - DCL not available - result, we lost
Sheff Utd - winnable - DCL not available - TBC

My point proven, the lad CANNOT be relied on to be available to win us games, though in theory has some ability to do so. Building a plan around him is destabilizing to other players, too.

This is not trolling.

I feel for him because he did all the right things working on his body every season. There is an underlying problem that has finally crept up and I’m not sure he will ever consistently see the field again. It’s a shame but I’m glad we finally moved on and went for Beto.

If Beto hits the ground running, is his Everton career over (borderline hyperbole?) as we know it? Just something I've been thinking about.

Hopefully it resurrects his deal if he's not pressured to come back instantly after an injury. Recover in the background and come back. He'll have 12 months left on his deal end of the year so it's decision time then depending on how this season goes.

Thankfully (in a weird way) this injury is his face so shouldn't have stopped him getting even sharper out on the grass.

Still deflecting from the point of your ignorant comment.

I’ve never said we should not be signing a striker. Which would allow us to get him fully fit and take the pressure of needing him off. I just don’t use an argument about what someone wears to judge how good they are at football.

Overall, I think he's not up to it.

The glimpses we get of any ability in between lengthy (and well paid) injury spells are more of a distraction.

Why is he so injury prone?

And the dressing up thing was ridiculous.

Most importantly he has not always contributed when playing, it's taken years of waiting to see any kind of return and the club's trajectory in that time is fact. That of course is NOT all DCL's fault, but he's a bang average forward that we've given too much time and money and hope to. He alone will not be the reason for any eventual relegation, but patience instead of hard headed mgt will be contributing factor in his case.
Ridiculous how?

Finally, he’s second choice. It should take the pressure off him considerably which can only help him, he’ll be well aware of how reliant we've been on him.

He’s class when fit and having two very good strikers never hurt anyone. Imagine being a goal or two down (ok, not too hard to imagine), and having DCL come off the bench to give you actual hope of turning it round (much harder to fathom). The difference between having him as backup than Maupay is unreal.
