2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

…U21 or U18?

We might have one or two who are a bit special in U18s and one worth considering at U21.
Dyche does not believe in youth - our three midfielders used today all over 30 no supply for any forward - Doucs out - a younger player in also upfront 442 with Beto & a youngster .... we have to blend youth with experience yes, but at the moment oldest slowest team in the prem - & we can't score ... Dyches tactics loses our ability to score with his style of football, & the age of the team same old faces each week same outcome 12 game 12 points .... & we have only played two top 8 teams ..

December he needs to sort it out, even our set pieces are poor .... if DCL won't sign drop him but if Dyche uses the same tactics & the same old personnel - we will struggle in December with the fixtures we have ..... even with DCL dropped .....

He seems to be the scapegoat for the team, some think justified,I personally think it's not as simple as that.
None of our forward thinking players looked anything but below par today, not one !, their keeper made one decent save on about 4 minutes, smart work by our number 9.
After that it was routine all afternoon, we're pumping high balls into the box,we're not getting to the byline often enough, our play was slow & plodding, too few decent forward passes cutting open their defence Brentford could well of won the game and were comfortable all afternoon.
Can't see how a teams performance lies at his door tbh.

He's missed numerous chances and his time is up I'm afraid. Championship beckons him.

One of the London clubs will take him.

Take 5 mill for him in January.

Phoning it in.
If you're DCL you don't go anywhere in January (assuming anyone even wants to buy you), you sit tight for 6 months and in the summer take the best deal as a free agent.

The problem is not DCL - he doesn't pick himself to play. The problem is the manager refuses to change things and who guarantees him his place every week and makes him undroppable, even when he goes 20 games without a goal or scores a whopping 7 in 33 games, or 2 in 12.

I think he’s agreed a deal so where else mate. I think he’d be happy to be dropped.

He's 27, it's his last opportunity for a "big" contract you'd think, he's been here 9 seasons now, on a free he will obviously get a better offer than if a club had to pay £5-10-20m for him, so there should be nothing surprising here.

The REAL question is how on earth has this football club never, ever, EVER, addressed the fact we have not had a proper goal scoring No9 since Lukaku left 6/7 years ago. That is beyond criminal IMO.

As soon as he didn't sign the new contract he should have been sold for whatever we could get. It very rarely works to keep a player who would like to leave.

His performances aren't good enough. And we know his contract is expiring. So the obvious question is why does the manager continue to select him.

Im very thankful he was foolish enough to not sign our contract offer

We need to cash in on him in January ASAP and withdraw the contract offer.

Question is who is going to pay anything for him considering he can’t score at all ?

Should have gotten what we could for him last summer. Insane to not factor in his wage demands and lower the fee we were asking. We could have the rapid Minteh on our right side and that DCL / Minteh change would put us on 7pts more i think.

He's downed tools and I dont think its likely he's planning to do that for the entire season.

He's doing an Anthony Gordon and I reckon he'll be at Newcastle for £10mil in January.

….Dyche has given debuts to Armstrong and Dixon this season and given Iroegbunam his longest run of top flight first team games. Branthwaite has become a regular under Dyche and speaks positively about how he’s been managed.

Doucoure & Gueye both over 30 and arguably our best pairing reflects what Dyche has available to him. What youngsters do you want to see play ahead of them?

When Dyche says he hasn’t got the personnel to play 2 up front, I expect he’s referring to Beto. Beto has no idea what he’s doing so imagine trying to play alongside him, you’d be waiting a long time for the return if you try and play a one-two with him . I don’t recall DCL getting a touch after Beto was introduced so which youngster do you want to see paired with Beto?

These posts are fine if you can identify these fantastic youngsters that could turn our team around.
